CHUWI UniBox AI495 Pro Packs Ryzen AI MAX Plus PRO 495 and 192 GB Memory

CHUWI has unveiled the UniBox AI495 Pro, a compact 2.9 liter workstation built around AMD’s flagship Ryzen AI MAX Plus PRO 495 processor and designed for demanding local AI workloads. The new system combines 16 Zen 5 CPU cores and 32 threads with Radeon 8065S integrated graphics, up to 192 GB of unified LPDDR5X 8533 memory, and as much as 131 TOPS of total AI compute.

The Ryzen AI MAX Plus PRO 495 reaches boost frequencies of up to 5.2 GHz and integrates Radeon 8065S graphics with 40 RDNA 3.5 Compute Units running at up to 3.0 GHz. Its XDNA 2 NPU delivers up to 55 TOPS, while AMD rates total platform AI performance at up to 131 TOPS. Similar hardware is already appearing across a growing wave of compact workstations, including the GMKtec EVO X5 Pro and MINISFORUM MS S1 MAX P495.

The largest upgrade over CHUWI’s previous UniBox AI395 is memory capacity. UniBox AI495 Pro increases unified memory from 128 GB of LPDDR5X 8000 to 192 GB of LPDDR5X 8533, with as much as 160 GB configurable for graphics workloads. AMD states that the Ryzen AI MAX 400 platform can use this memory capacity to handle models exceeding 300B parameters using 4 bit quantization. The large shared memory pool is especially valuable for local AI inference because it removes the conventional VRAM capacity limitations associated with most consumer discrete graphics cards.

Storage expansion includes 3 M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 slots, while connectivity provides WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, dual 10 GbE networking, and multiple USB Type A and USB Type C connections. CHUWI fits the hardware inside the same 2.9 liter chassis used by the UniBox AI395 and supplies the system with a 240 W power adapter. Pricing and commercial availability have not yet been announced.

The UniBox AI495 Pro reinforces how quickly Ryzen AI MAX Plus PRO 495 is becoming the preferred platform for high memory compact AI workstations. The biggest advantage is not simply its 131 TOPS rating, but the ability to provide up to 160 GB of memory to graphics workloads inside a 2.9 liter system. With CHUWI joining GMKtec, MINISFORUM, ACEMAGIC, and other manufacturers around the same platform, competition will increasingly come down to cooling, connectivity, software support, and pricing rather than processor specifications alone.
