Stupid Never Dies Launches October 21 Against Final Fantasy Resonance

GPTRACK50 has confirmed that Stupid Never Dies will launch worldwide on October 21, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and PC through Steam, with the Japanese release following on October 22. SEGA has joined the project as its global publishing and distribution partner, giving the debut title from the CAPCOM veteran studio considerably stronger commercial support.

The release places Stupid Never Dies inside the same global launch window as Final Fantasy Resonance, which arrives on October 22 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. Although the games target different audiences, both will compete for player attention and spending during an increasingly crowded October calendar.

Stupid Never Dies is a single player 3D action RPG built around Davy, an exceptionally weak and timid zombie attempting to revive Julia, a human woman who died inside a shopping mall freezer. His journey requires entering a dangerous dungeon, defeating the King of Monsters, and recovering the knowledge stolen from humanity.

Combat combines rapid character growth with 3 central systems. Style Eat allows Davy to consume elite monsters and transform into 11 different forms, including a werewolf, vampire, harpy, and golem. Body Hack lets players replace parts of his body with equipment that changes statistics and unlocks abilities, while Davy Burst temporarily transforms reality and significantly increases his combat power.

"Stupid Never Dies is an ambitious action game that introduces a number of original gameplay systems."

The Standard Edition will cost $49.99, while the $59.99 Glorious Idiot Edition includes the TickTock Teddies: Nonsense Overload Pack. The downloadable content will also be sold separately for $11.99 and introduces visual effects, unusual character modifications, sound changes, and music remixes.

October already includes major releases such as Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse on October 15, while Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto VI follows on November 19. Stupid Never Dies will therefore need its unusual visual identity, CAPCOM development heritage, and lower launch price to distinguish itself from significantly larger franchises.

Launching beside Final Fantasy is risky, but Stupid Never Dies is not attempting to compete through scale. Its strongest assets are personality, fast action, unusual transformation mechanics, and a $49.99 price that places it below many major releases.

SEGA’s involvement should improve distribution and marketing, but October 2026 gives players little room for experimentation. Strong reviews and positive creator coverage will be essential if GPTRACK50 wants its first game to avoid being overshadowed by established franchises.

Will you choose Stupid Never Dies, Final Fantasy Resonance, or attempt to play both during their shared launch window?
