Sapphire Gives the Radeon RX 9070 XT a Valor Mortis Makeover

Sapphire has introduced a new Valor Mortis Edition of its NITRO+ Radeon RX 9070 XT, pairing the existing graphics card design with a removable magnetic backplate based on the upcoming first person soulslike from the creators of Ghostrunner. The card also includes a copy of Valor Mortis through AMD Rewards. The Sapphire NITRO+ Radeon RX 9070 XT OC Valor Mortis Edition is based on the standard NITRO+ model, so the main changes are cosmetic rather than architectural.

The centerpiece is Sapphire's Quick Connect MagniPlate, which carries the Valor Mortis artwork on a removable magnetic rear plate. This lets the card keep the familiar NITRO+ design while adding the collaboration theme in a way that is easy to swap or display inside a showcase build.

Valor Mortis launches on October 13, 2026. Developed by One More Level, the game follows William, a former soldier of Napoleon's Grande Armée who is resurrected into an alternate 19th century Europe affected by a mysterious plague. Combat combines first person melee attacks, parries, supernatural abilities, and soulslike progression.

Sapphire has not announced pricing for the Valor Mortis Edition. That could be the deciding factor for buyers, especially while Radeon pricing remains under pressure. We recently covered RX 9070 XT pricing climbing as high as 6999 RMB in Chinese channel guidance, alongside reports of higher Radeon GPU and memory bundle costs.

The removable backplate is what gives this collaboration a clearer identity. Sapphire is not trying to reinvent the card itself, but rather turning the NITRO+ into a themed collector model with minimal changes to the underlying design.

That makes pricing especially important. If the premium stays modest, the included game and swappable artwork could make sense for fans of Valor Mortis. If the markup is too high, the standard NITRO+ will remain the more practical choice for anyone focused purely on performance.

Would you pay extra for a themed GPU like the Valor Mortis Edition, or would you rather buy a standard RX 9070 XT and spend the difference elsewhere in your build?
