GIGABYTE Launches AORUS P1600W Titanium PSU With 1600W Power in a Compact 160 mm Design

GIGABYTE has officially launched the AORUS P1600W 80 PLUS Titanium Modular PCIe 5.1 AI TOP power supply, delivering 1600W of capacity inside a compact 160 mm chassis designed for enthusiast PCs, local AI systems, and demanding multi GPU workstations. The PSU expands GIGABYTE's AI TOP ecosystem while targeting users who require extreme power delivery without moving to an oversized power supply design.

The AORUS P1600W supports the ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 standards while carrying an 80 PLUS Titanium certification. Despite its 1600W rating, the unit measures only 160 mm in length, making it easier to integrate into enthusiast cases than many similarly powerful power supplies. According to GIGABYTE, the compact power density is supported by GaN MOSFET technology, a digital power design, 100% Japanese capacitors, and a single 12V rail designed to maintain stable power delivery under demanding CPU and GPU workloads.

GIGABYTE is also targeting systems where multiple modern GPUs remain important. The PSU includes 2 native 16 pin to 16 pin PCIe connections alongside 2 additional 8 pin to 16 pin connections, allowing configurations with as many as 4 PCIe 5.1 graphics cards. GIGABYTE states that 2 GPUs can receive up to 600W each, while a 4 GPU configuration can provide up to 300W independently to each graphics card. This makes the P1600W particularly relevant for AI development, rendering, professional compute, and workstation environments rather than traditional multi GPU gaming systems.

Cooling is handled by a 140 mm double ball bearing fan that can stop during idle or lighter workloads and automatically increase its speed as temperatures rise. GIGABYTE has also implemented a dust removal function that briefly reverses the fan to help remove accumulated particles from inside the power supply. A built in digital LCD can display power consumption, current, temperature, fan speed, custom text, images, GIFs, and video through GIGABYTE Control Center, while AI TOP Utility provides additional monitoring functionality for sustained AI workloads.

The P1600W also fits naturally alongside increasingly demanding flagship hardware such as GIGABYTE's AORUS RTX 5090 Infinity, where growing GPU power requirements and premium system configurations continue pushing builders toward higher capacity power supplies. The broader market is also moving toward increasingly powerful desktop PSU solutions, particularly as AI workloads, rendering, and professional GPU computing become more accessible outside traditional server environments.

1600W power supplies are becoming less about excessive gaming builds and more about the convergence of enthusiast PCs, AI development, and workstation computing. The AORUS P1600W stands out because GIGABYTE is not simply increasing wattage. Packing 1600W, Titanium efficiency, digital monitoring, extensive PCIe 5.1 connectivity, and GaN technology into a 160 mm chassis makes the physical design just as significant as its headline capacity.
