NVIDIA Adds 26 Games to GeForce NOW in August but Skips Star Wars Zero Company and Other Major Releases

NVIDIA has revealed its August 2026 roadmap for GeForce NOW, confirming that 26 PC games are joining the cloud gaming service throughout the month. The rollout begins with 8 games available this week, while several larger releases are scheduled to arrive later in August. However, some of the month's most notable PC launches are currently absent, including Star Wars Zero Company, Beast of Reincarnation, and MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls.

According to NVIDIA, the first wave includes Big Walk, Beacon Pines, Sovereign Tower, Expeditions: Samurai, The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, The Incident at Galley House, Machine Party, and World of Warships: Legends. The latter brings its free to play naval combat to GeForce NOW alongside the Pacific Hammer Campaign, new United States destroyers, and the latest content available without requiring a local installation.

The rest of August expands the library with Pax Autocratica, Car Wash Simulator, Clawed, Hell Let Loose: Vietnam, Sandustry, The Sinking City 2, Mortal Shell II, Gallipoli, Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, Breathedge 2, High on Life, High on Life 2, Paradise Killer, Misery, Pratfall, and Starvester. Several are arriving on GeForce NOW alongside their PC releases, while Sandustry, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, and High on Life 2 are also connected to Game Pass availability.

The most interesting part of the announcement may be what is missing. Electronic Arts will launch Star Wars Zero Company on August 27 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S. Developed by Bit Reactor in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games, the single player turn based tactical game places players in command of an unconventional squad operating during the final stages of the Clone Wars. Despite being one of August's larger releases, NVIDIA has not currently confirmed it for GeForce NOW.

Game Freak's Beast of Reincarnation is another significant omission. The action RPG launched during the opening week of August and is available on PC and Xbox Series X and S, including day 1 availability through Game Pass. MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls also launched on August 6 for PlayStation 5 and PC, bringing Arc System Works' 4 versus 4 tag fighting formula to Marvel characters. Neither game appears on NVIDIA's announced August GeForce NOW schedule.

The August expansion follows NVIDIA's continued push to make its cloud gaming service more capable of replacing high end local hardware for supported games. As covered in our May GeForce NOW expansion, Ultimate subscribers can now access RTX 5080 class performance across nearly the entire GeForce NOW library, significantly expanding Blackwell powered cloud gaming beyond individually upgraded titles. NVIDIA is demonstrating that capability at QuakeCon this week with GeForce RTX 5080 powered Ultimate systems running at up to 5K and 120 FPS on ultrawide displays, alongside demonstrations using the Lenovo Legion Go S handheld.

NVIDIA also highlighted several games that were added beyond its original July roadmap, including Breath of Fire IV, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Dino Crisis, Dino Crisis 2, Halo: Campaign Evolved, and the Onimusha: Way of the Sword demo. Halo is particularly notable following the recent RTX 50 stability fixes for Halo Campaign Evolved, while CAPCOM's upcoming Onimusha Way of the Sword is already confirmed to arrive on GeForce NOW when the full game launches in September.

26 games represents another substantial month for GeForce NOW, but quantity is only part of the equation. NVIDIA's biggest challenge is increasingly securing cloud support close to launch for the games generating the most attention. Missing Star Wars Zero Company, Beast of Reincarnation, and MARVEL Tōkon from the initial August roadmap creates noticeable gaps, particularly as GeForce NOW Ultimate becomes technically capable of delivering an experience comparable to powerful local gaming hardware. NVIDIA can still add games through later GFN Thursday updates, but consistent day 1 availability for major releases will become increasingly important if cloud gaming is expected to compete directly with traditional PC hardware rather than simply complement it.

Which missing August release would you most like NVIDIA to add to GeForce NOW, Star Wars Zero Company, Beast of Reincarnation, or MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls?
