NVIDIA Hotfix 610.82 Fixes Halo: Campaign Evolved Stability Issues on RTX 50 GPUs
NVIDIA has released GeForce Hotfix Display Driver 610.82 to address stability problems affecting Halo: Campaign Evolved on GeForce RTX 50 series graphics cards. According to the official NVIDIA support notice, the issue occurs when RTX 50 owners run the game using drivers from the 610.xx branch.
Driver 610.82 is based on the existing Game Ready Driver 610.74 rather than representing a completely new driver branch. NVIDIA has not provided additional technical information about the cause of the instability, but the targeted nature of the fix suggests that players accessing the game early should install the hotfix if they encounter crashes or other reliability problems on RTX 50 hardware.
Halo: Campaign Evolved officially launches on July 28, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, Steam, and PlayStation 5. Players who purchased the Premium Edition received early access beginning July 23 at 8 AM Pacific Time, giving NVIDIA an opportunity to address the RTX 50 problem before the wider global release. The game will also support cross play and cross progression and will be included with Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass from launch.
The hotfix also resolves an unrelated issue affecting Path of Exile 2. NVIDIA says some systems could experience intermittent and unusually long pauses after extended gameplay sessions while using the DirectX 12 mode. Driver 610.82 is intended to eliminate those pauses.
NVIDIA currently lists only these 2 corrections for the release. The hotfix does not include a solution for the separate Battlefield 6 crashes affecting some RTX 50 systems on maps containing large bodies of water. Battlefield Studios is still investigating that problem with NVIDIA and has advised affected players to temporarily return to driver 596.49.
Releasing the hotfix during early access gives NVIDIA and Halo Studios time to stabilize the RTX 50 experience before the full July 28 launch. However, the appearance of gaming issues across the 610.xx branch highlights the importance of testing driver updates carefully, particularly when playing newly released titles.
RTX 50 owners planning to play Halo: Campaign Evolved should consider installing 610.82, while Battlefield 6 players should continue following the separate rollback guidance. A driver that fixes one game does not necessarily resolve compatibility problems affecting another.
Have you experienced crashes in Halo: Campaign Evolved or long pauses in Path of Exile 2 while using NVIDIA driver 610.74?
