GALAX RTX 5080 HOF Extreme Launches With Dual 16 Pin Connectors, 400W Power and Four Fan Cooling

GALAX has officially introduced the GeForce RTX 5080 HOF Extreme, an enthusiast graphics card featuring 2 strategically positioned 12V 2x6 power connectors, a custom 20+4 phase power delivery system and an elaborate four fan cooling solution. Announced on October 22, 2026, the latest Hall of Fame flagship combines NVIDIA's Blackwell architecture with aggressive factory overclocking, an all white PCB and genuine Swarovski crystals, targeting enthusiasts seeking premium performance and distinctive PC aesthetics.

One of the most unusual features is its dual 16 pin power connector arrangement. Unlike extreme overclocking cards that combine multiple power inputs, GALAX designed the 2 connectors as alternative connection points, allowing builders to select either the conventional top mounted socket or a concealed connector for cleaner cable management. Only 1 connector is intended to be used at a time, meaning the design does not provide a combined 1200W power input. A magnetic cover conceals the unused connection, making the card particularly attractive for custom builds with hidden power cables.

According to GALAX's official announcement, the RTX 5080 HOF Extreme offers 2 operating profiles through a physical Dual BIOS switch. Gaming Mode delivers a 2655 MHz boost clock with a 360W power target, while OC Mode increases frequency to 2805 MHz and raises the power target to 400W. Compared with NVIDIA's reference RTX 5080 specifications, the overclocked configuration offers approximately 7% higher advertised boost frequency and an additional 40W power allowance, although actual gaming performance improvements will depend on individual workloads.

The card's cooling system features 3 large 102 mm fans across the front and an additional 92 mm fan integrated into the backplate. Beneath the cooling assembly, a vapor chamber, 8 heat pipes and Honeywell PTM7950 thermal material work together to improve heat transfer during sustained workloads. GALAX also includes its Hyper Boost function, allowing users to immediately increase fan speeds to maximum through a dedicated button.

Power delivery receives similar attention through a custom white PCB equipped with a 20+4 phase design and integrated eFuse protection. The electronic fuse system monitors abnormal electrical conditions, including current and voltage irregularities, helping protect critical components. However, these safeguards do not eliminate every potential connector issue, particularly localized contact overheating, which has previously been documented in RTX 5090 power connector failures.

Beyond performance, the RTX 5080 HOF Extreme incorporates 13 genuine Swarovski crystals distributed across its front and rear surfaces, alongside Aurora MAX ARGB illumination. GALAX's HOF PANEL software also provides real time monitoring, overclocking controls, fan management and customizable lighting profiles.

The graphics card has reportedly launched in China for 19,999 yuan, positioning it among the most expensive RTX 5080 models available. GALAX has confirmed plans for broader international distribution, although official global pricing, retail partners and availability dates remain unannounced.

The GALAX RTX 5080 HOF Extreme is a showcase of premium engineering and enthusiast design rather than a conventional gaming upgrade. Its 400W power target and 20+4 phase VRM provide additional overclocking headroom, while the four fan cooling system should help sustain higher frequencies under demanding workloads.

However, the dual power connectors are primarily a cable management innovation rather than a method of increasing power delivery. This distinction is particularly important given ongoing concerns about 12V 2x6 connector reliability. The alternative mounting positions offer more installation flexibility, but proper cable seating and electrical safety remain essential.

At a reported price of 19,999 yuan in China, the card represents a luxury product whose appeal extends beyond gaming performance. For competitive overclockers, collectors and enthusiasts building elaborate white themed systems, the HOF Extreme offers a distinctive combination of hardware engineering and aesthetics. For most gamers, however, a more conventional RTX 5080 will likely deliver better value.

Would you pay a substantial premium for the GALAX RTX 5080 HOF Extreme and its unique design, or would you rather invest in a more powerful GPU such as the RTX 5090?
