Darksiders 4 and Next Kingdom Come Target April 2027 to March 2028 Release Window

Embracer Group has narrowed the launch windows for Darksiders 4 and the next game in the Kingdom Come franchise, confirming that both are currently planned for its FY 2027/28 release schedule. According to Embracer's latest Q1 FY 2026/27 presentation, that places both projects between April 2027 and March 2028, giving players the clearest official timeframe yet for 2 of Fellowship Entertainment's major upcoming releases.

Darksiders 4 is being developed by Gunfire Games for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The official Darksiders 4 page describes it as a third person action adventure combining combat, traversal, and puzzle solving across a post apocalyptic world. The story will continue directly from the original Darksiders, while players will be able to choose between the legendary Horsemen, each featuring distinct weapons and combat styles. THQ Nordic still lists the individual release date as unannounced, making Embracer's fiscal year guidance the most precise official window currently available.

The next Kingdom Come project is also scheduled for FY 2027/28, although Embracer continues to identify it simply as Kingdom Come rather than confirming a final title. Warhorse Studios previously announced that it is developing a new adventure within the franchise alongside an open world RPG based on The Lord of the Rings. As covered when Warhorse confirmed both new projects, the studio has not described the new Kingdom Come game as Kingdom Come Deliverance 3, leaving open the possibility that it could take a different form within the historical RPG universe.

The scheduling is particularly notable following the commercial performance of Kingdom Come Deliverance II. Embracer said Fellowship Entertainment's latest quarter faced a difficult comparison against the previous year's launch, but the original Kingdom Come, Metro, Remnant, and Dead Island catalogs continued delivering solid results. Fellowship's roadmap now positions the new Kingdom Come and Darksiders 4 as major releases following titles including Metro 2039, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, and Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV.

Embracer's presentation also lists Tomb Raider: Catalyst separately for calendar year 2028, showing how heavily Fellowship Entertainment's upcoming strategy is being built around established franchises. Darksiders and Kingdom Come therefore represent important pieces of a broader pipeline designed to increase the company's cadence of major releases after several years of restructuring.

The biggest development here is not an exact launch date, but that 2 substantial projects now fit inside the same 12 month window. Darksiders 4 is finally advancing the main storyline with Gunfire Games returning to the franchise, while Warhorse is attempting to follow Kingdom Come Deliverance II far sooner than the 7 year gap separating the first 2 games. The FY 2027/28 target also suggests the next Kingdom Come experience may have a different scale or production structure than a completely new numbered sequel, although Warhorse has not confirmed that yet.

For Fellowship Entertainment, the window could become one of its strongest periods if both projects remain on schedule alongside its expanding Tomb Raider, Metro, and Middle earth portfolio.

Which are you more excited to play between April 2027 and March 2028, Darksiders 4 or the next Kingdom Come adventure?
