CONTROL Resonant PC Specs Scale From GTX 1070 to RTX 5080 Path Tracing

Remedy Entertainment has revealed the full PC requirements for CONTROL Resonant, showing a surprisingly wide hardware range that starts with a GeForce GTX 1070 for 1080p gameplay and reaches a GeForce RTX 5080 for its highest 4K path tracing profile. Importantly, all 6 official performance targets use upscaling rather than native resolution.

CONTROL Resonant launches September 24, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, PC through Steam and Epic Games Store, and GeForce NOW. A Mac version through Steam and the App Store will follow later in 2026. Remedy describes the sequel as an action adventure RPG built around Dylan Faden, who explores a paranaturally distorted Manhattan while confronting a reality bending threat.

The final PC requirements divide performance into conventional rendering, ray tracing and path tracing configurations:

Shared Requirements: All 6 profiles require 16 GB of system memory, Windows 10 or Windows 11 64 bit, and 120 GB of SSD storage.

The specifications also show that CPU requirements remain relatively stable once players reach the higher profiles, while graphics hardware scales much more aggressively as advanced lighting effects are enabled.

The RTX 5080 requirement specifically applies to the maximum 2160p, 60 FPS, High graphics and High path tracing profile using Performance upscaling. It is not the general requirement for 4K gameplay. Players targeting 2160p at 60 FPS without ray tracing can instead use an RTX 3080 or RX 6800 XT, while conventional 1440p at 60 FPS targets hardware as low as an RTX 3060 Ti, RX 6700 XT or Arc B580.

PC features include uncapped frame rates, NVIDIA DLSS 4.5, AMD FSR 4.1, Frame Generation, ray tracing and path tracing. NVIDIA has additionally confirmed that CONTROL Resonant launches with its complete DLSS 4.5 suite, including Ray Reconstruction and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, alongside path traced effects. RTX Mega Geometry is also being integrated to handle complex scene geometry more efficiently.

CONTROL Resonant has been positioned as one of NVIDIA's major graphics showcases throughout 2026, CONTROL Resonant joined NVIDIA's DLSS 4.5 and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation rollout, while the later DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction release confirmed that Remedy's sequel would arrive with the complete rendering stack.

The more interesting part of CONTROL Resonant's requirements is not simply the flagship GPU at the top. It is how widely Remedy appears to have scaled Northlight. A GTX 1070 remains sufficient for the minimum experience, while ray tracing starts with an RTX 2060 SUPER, RX 6600 or Arc A580.

What the maximum profile demonstrates is how demanding full path tracing remains. Even current high end hardware relies on reconstruction and upscaling when targeting 4K at 60 FPS, reinforcing how modern rendering is increasingly built around a combination of traditional GPU performance, AI reconstruction and generated frames rather than raw native resolution alone.
