Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties, Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut Announced at RGG Summit 2025

During the RGG Summit 2025 livestream, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio unveiled several major announcements, including Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties and Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut, confirming recent leaks that hinted at this news.

The studio describes Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties as an “extreme” remake of the original 2009 action-adventure classic. The remake promises to revamp every aspect of the game, with the bustling streets of Okinawa and Tokyo reimagined in stunning detail and a combat system redesigned to deliver more fluid and brutal brawling action. Additional story scenes will expand on the original narrative, adding more depth and emotion to the beloved tale, while enhanced side activities immerse players more than ever before.

Alongside the main story, the game will also feature a brand-new side game titled Dark Ties, centered on Yoshitaka Mine. This prequel follows Mine as he willingly plunges into the criminal underworld after losing everything. Driven by emptiness and the search for meaningful connections, his journey will be portrayed through dramatic storytelling, boxing-inspired combat, and an array of side experiences.

Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties is already available for pre-order across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2, with a scheduled release date of February 11, 2026. The Standard Edition is priced at $59.99, while the Deluxe Edition is available for $74.99. All pre-orders include the Legendary Lad: Ichiban Kasuga bonus, adding Ichiban Kasuga, the franchise’s current protagonist, to the Ryukyu Gal Gang. The Deluxe Edition also includes several bonuses, such as the Legendary Character Outfit Pack, Legendary Lads & Gals Pack, Customization Pack, Flip Phone Customization Pack, and Legendary BGM CD Pack.

In addition, RGG Studio announced Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut, an enhanced version of the iconic 2015 entry (originally released in the West in January 2017). This upgraded edition introduces dual audio with a new English voice track, new cutscenes to expand the story, and an upcoming online co-op multiplayer mode called Red Light Raid. However, RGG confirmed that save data from the original Yakuza 0 will not carry over to the Director’s Cut, and there will be no upgrade option for existing owners, who will need to purchase the new release separately. Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut launches on December 8, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

On the same day, RGG Studio will also release Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. To celebrate the series’ 20th anniversary, a special Yakuza Series 20th Anniversary Bundle will launch, featuring Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut, Kiwami, and Kiwami 2. This edition will be available for PC and PlayStation 5, though only as a physical release.

With Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties, Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut, and the anniversary bundle, RGG Studio is clearly setting the stage for 2026 to be a landmark year for the franchise.

What do you think of the new announcements? Will you be diving into Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties, or are you more excited about returning to Yakuza 0 with the new Director’s Cut?
