Sony Reveals Battle Yellow PS5 for Marvel’s Wolverine With Matching DualSense and Adamantium PS5 Pro Design
Sony has revealed a new Marvel’s Wolverine limited edition PlayStation 5 hardware collection ahead of the game’s September 15, 2026 launch, introducing a striking Battle Yellow PS5 Digital Edition bundle alongside matching DualSense controllers and console covers. The design takes direct inspiration from Wolverine’s Battle Reborn suit and iconic claws, combining a bright yellow finish with exposed slash marks that reveal darker details beneath the console shell. PlayStation says the collection will launch alongside the game in limited quantities.
The PlayStation 5 Digital Edition Marvel’s Wolverine Battle Yellow Limited Edition Bundle includes the customized PS5 Digital Edition, a matching Battle Yellow DualSense wireless controller, and a digital copy of Marvel’s Wolverine. The game voucher also includes the preorder content featuring an early unlock for the Classic Brown suit and Reflective Claws, 1 Technique Point, and 4 PlayStation Avatars.
Sony worked with Scottish graphic artist Jock on the collection, translating his traditional ink based artwork into the console and accessory designs. The claw marks extend across both the PS5 and DualSense, reinforcing the aggressive visual identity Insomniac Games has established for its version of Logan.

Players who already own a PS5 Slim or PS5 Pro will not need to purchase another console to get the Battle Yellow design. Sony will sell separate Battle Yellow console covers for both systems, including configurations with and without disc drives. The company is also introducing a second PS5 Pro exclusive design called Adamantium Limited Edition, replacing the yellow color scheme with a metallic finish inspired by the material bonded to Wolverine’s skeleton and claws. A matching Adamantium DualSense controller will also be available separately.

Preorders begin August 19 at 10 AM local time, while the complete collection becomes available beginning September 15. The Battle Yellow console bundle and controller will be distributed through PlayStation Direct and selected retailers, while the console covers and Adamantium products will primarily be offered through PlayStation Direct in supported regions and selected retailers elsewhere.
The hardware arrives on the same day as Marvel’s Wolverine, which launches September 15 exclusively for PlayStation 5. Insomniac Games has positioned the title as a darker and considerably more violent interpretation of its Marvel formula, with Logan facing enemies including Mystique, Omega Red, the Reavers, and Sentinels. Sony is also placing considerable first party importance on the release, with Marvel’s Wolverine expected to become one of PlayStation’s major software drivers during 2026. Sony’s first party outlook highlighted how the company is positioning Wolverine alongside Saros as a key contributor to PlayStation software growth.
The launch will also follow continued support for Insomniac’s previous Marvel title. Marvel’s Spider Man 2 recently received Enhanced PSSR support on PS5 Pro, giving Sony another opportunity to showcase its Marvel partnership as attention shifts toward Logan’s standalone adventure.
Sony could have simply released another themed controller, but the Wolverine collection goes considerably further. Battle Yellow immediately identifies the character without relying on excessive logos, while the claw damage revealing the darker internal artwork gives the console a much more distinctive identity than a simple color replacement.
The Adamantium PS5 Pro design may be even more interesting for existing owners. Offering separate covers gives players access to the limited edition styling without forcing them to purchase another console, something Sony should continue doing with future special editions.
Launching the hardware on exactly the same day as Marvel’s Wolverine also makes the collection an important part of Sony’s broader marketing strategy. Insomniac’s game is already one of PlayStation’s biggest releases of 2026, and a full hardware collection gives Sony another premium product category to build around that launch.
