Retro Medieval Vampiric “Boomer-Slasher” Bloodthief Launches on PC September 22
Bloodthief, a retro-styled first-person “boomer-slasher” that combines high-speed parkour, wall-running, and sword combat, will officially launch on September 22, 2025, for PC. Developed by Blargis, a new indie studio making its debut, Bloodthief promises a frantic, skill-based experience tailor-made for speedrunners and fans of precision melee combat.
A Faster, Deadlier Ghostrunner in Medieval Garb
If you enjoyed Ghostrunner but wished for something even faster, Bloodthief looks like it may fill that void. The game’s newly released release date trailer showcases wall-running, lightning-fast parkour, and stylish swordplay as players embody a vampiric warrior tearing through enemies with speed and precision.
Interestingly, Bloodthief may also be stepping into territory that Ghostrunner developer One More Level is exploring with its upcoming Valor Mortis. However, while Valor Mortis won’t arrive until next year, Bloodthief launches in just a few weeks, giving players the chance to experience medieval, melee-driven parkour action right away.
A Speedrunner’s Delight
Blargis describes Bloodthief as a “boomer-slasher,” channeling the fast-paced intensity of old-school shooters but swapping out guns for blades, parkour, and vampiric flair. With its emphasis on fluid movement and brutal melee combat, it seems designed to keep players moving constantly and cutting down enemies in style.
For fans of indie innovation, retro aesthetics, and games that reward mastery through speed and precision, Bloodthief could easily become one of 2025’s most exciting underground hits.
Does Bloodthief look like the kind of high-speed parkour action you’d play, or will you wait for Valor Mortis next year?
