Battlefield 6 Devs Optimized the Game for a Wide Range of Hardware, Even Below Minimum Specs
A significant portion of Battlefield 6 open beta players ran the game on minimum or even below minimum PC specs, but according to developer EA DICE, the team went to great lengths to ensure the game would still run smoothly.
In a new interview with Eurogamer, technical director Christian Buhl explained that of the millions of players who joined the beta, a substantial number were on low-end systems. Despite this, the beta performed better than many expected.
“Min spec is certainly one of our most important spec. It's super important from both a commercial and business perspective – we want as many people as possible playing the game,” Buhl said.
The development team focused heavily on optimizing maps and performance targets so that even low-end hardware could deliver a playable experience. This is particularly important in today’s market, with rising hardware costs and living expenses making high-end gaming rigs less accessible for many players.
