Open-World Sandbox Racing Game Wreckreation Arrives This October

Three Fields Entertainment, a studio founded by former Criterion developers best known for the Burnout series, is finally ready to unleash its ambitious sandbox racing title Wreckreation. Published by THQ Nordic, the game will officially launch on October 28, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S at a price of $39.99 / €39.99.

First announced back in 2022, Wreckreation is designed as both a racing game and a creative sandbox, giving players freedom to design their own dream tracks and then race on them instantly. Unlike traditional track editors, Wreckreation allows on-the-fly creation, meaning you can drop loops, ramps, weather effects, or even decorations into the world at the press of a button - without pausing or switching modes.

The world itself spans an impressive 400 square kilometers, offering endless room for experimentation and chaos. With over 50 customizable cars to choose from, players can turn the open-world into either a high-speed playground or a destructive stunt showcase.

Whether you’re building a scenic course across open highways, stacking impossible loop-de-loops, or adjusting the time of day for cinematic effect, Wreckreation encourages a mix of creativity and adrenaline-fueled gameplay. It’s a spiritual successor to the Burnout ethos of freedom, destruction, and high-octane thrills, but with an added twist: you’re the architect of your own racing paradise.

Would you spend more time building crazy tracks in Wreckreation or racing them with friends? Let us know in the comments!
