Lords of the Fallen Reportedly Set to Headline PS Plus Essential for April 2026
Sony has not officially revealed the full PlayStation Plus Essential lineup for April 2026 yet, but a new report suggests that Lords of the Fallen from 2023 will be the major headliner for next month’s batch. The report comes from Dealabs, where billbil-kun says Lords of the Fallen will be one of the April Essential titles. Billbil-kun has built a strong track record with PlayStation Plus leaks, and Video Games Chronicle notes that the insider has reliably revealed previous PS Plus lineups ahead of Sony’s official announcement.
Even so, this should still be treated as a report rather than a confirmed PlayStation announcement until Sony publishes the official lineup. That timing is also slightly unusual this month. According to Gameblog, the April 2026 PS Plus Essential reveal is expected on April 1, with the games then becoming claimable on April 7, which helps explain why the usual official announcement has not happened yet.

If the leak is accurate, the timing makes sense for CI Games. Lords of the Fallen is in much better shape now than it was at launch thanks to the major Version 2.0 overhaul that CI Games rolled out in April 2025, which the studio described as the game’s “definitive update” and a free upgrade for all owners. That means PS Plus subscribers would likely be jumping into a much more polished version of the game than early buyers got in 2023.
There is also a bigger franchise angle here. CI Games has already confirmed that Lords of the Fallen 2 is on the way, and recent reporting says the sequel is still planned for 2026. GamesRadar also reported just days ago that the 2023 reboot has now sold more than 2.5 million copies and finally broken even, showing that the series still has commercial life. Putting the 2023 game on PS Plus Essential now would be a smart move if CI Games wants to rebuild momentum and get more players back into the franchise before the sequel’s next big marketing beat.
The subscription timing also lines up with the game’s recent platform history. Lords of the Fallen previously spent time on Xbox Game Pass, but multiple reports show it left the service at the end of November 2025. If it now moves into PS Plus Essential, that would mark another major subscription push for the reboot, only this time with PlayStation as the featured platform.
For now, the most important takeaway is simple. Lords of the Fallen has not been officially confirmed by Sony yet, but the leak looks credible, the timing fits, and the game’s improved state makes it a strong candidate for a second life through PS Plus. If Sony confirms it next week, April could end up being a very solid month for Soulslike fans on PlayStation.
Would you be happy to see Lords of the Fallen lead PS Plus Essential for April, or were you hoping Sony would go with a bigger surprise?
