High on Life 2 Launches in February 2026, New Gameplay Revealed at Gamescom

Hello, World!

Squanch Games has officially confirmed that High on Life 2, the sequel to the comedy-driven first-person shooter from 2022, will launch on February 13, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, with availability on Xbox Game Pass from day one. The announcement was made alongside a massive 42-minute gameplay demo during Gamescom 2025.

A New Story Five Years Later

Set five years after the events of the original, High on Life 2 thrusts players into another bizarre sci-fi adventure. The game kicks off with a mission to assassinate a corrupt senator who plans to transform humans into pharmaceutical pills in a twisted scheme for profit. While this premise sets the stage, the real conflict emerges when players are tasked with a bounty on their own sister, unraveling a larger conspiracy that threatens both the protagonist and humanity at large.

Gameplay Evolution – Skateboarding and Beyond

One of the most notable changes highlighted in the Gamescom demo is the skateboard system, which now serves as the game’s core movement mechanic, replacing much of the traversal from the first game. Players can look forward to new weapons, expanded exploration, and diverse environments across ConCon, a surreal planet built around floating conventions.

The new footage suggests that Squanch Games has significantly increased its production budget, pushing for more ambitious world design and refined mechanics. With fresh environments, weapon variety, and narrative twists, the sequel is shaping up to be larger in scale and scope than its predecessor.

Bigger, Bolder, But Still Weird

As with the first installment, humor remains central to High on Life 2. Whether the sequel can balance its trademark comedy with tighter gameplay will be a key question for fans. While some players loved the original’s eccentric humor, others found it divisive—and the sequel will need to deliver both laughs and polished mechanics to cement its place as more than just a comedic experiment.

Are you more excited for High on Life 2’s expanded gameplay systems, or do you think its offbeat humor is still the real selling point?
