Anno 117: Pax Romana Demo Arrives September 2, New Celtic Province Albion Revealed
Ubisoft may not have brought a massive lineup to Gamescom 2025, but fans of its long-running city-building franchise got an exciting update: a free demo for Anno 117: Pax Romana will be available from September 2–16, 2025. Alongside the demo news, Ubisoft showcased a brand-new province—Albion, expanding the playable world of the upcoming strategy title.
Albion Joins the Roman Provinces
Following the previously revealed Latium province, which houses Rome itself, Ubisoft has now confirmed Albion as a playable region in Anno 117: Pax Romana. This Celtic province offers players the choice between two divergent governance styles:
Preserve and encourage Celtic traditions, maintaining local culture and identity.
Assimilate Albion into Roman customs, spreading Roman influence and control.
Both paths are viable but require different management approaches, influencing trade, population dynamics, and the overall direction of your empire.
Players eager to test out Anno 117: Pax Romana before launch will get their chance starting September 2, 2025, when the free demo goes live across Steam, the Epic Games Store, and Ubisoft Connect. The demo will be available until September 16, 2025, and can be replayed as many times as players wish during the two-week window.
This will be the first opportunity for fans to experience the game’s mechanics firsthand ahead of its full release on November 13, 2025.
With the addition of Albion, Anno 117: Pax Romana promises a dynamic blend of cultural choice, political management, and economic development. The upcoming demo should give players a strong glimpse into how their decisions—whether respecting Celtic heritage or enforcing Roman assimilation, will shape the future of their empire.
Will you guide Albion by preserving its Celtic traditions, or will you push for Roman assimilation when Anno 117: Pax Romana launches later this year?
