Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon 5 to Continue Receiving Support Despite Recent Studio Cuts

Following reports last month that Turn 10 Studios had been restructured into a Forza franchise support team after another wave of layoffs at the Microsoft-owned developer, concerns quickly spread among fans about the future of both Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon 5.

In an official statement shared via the Forza Motorsport account on X, the development teams addressed these concerns directly:

“Dear Forza Community, we know many of you have questions about what’s next for the Forza franchise, and we appreciate the support of our incredible community. We wanted to assure players that Turn 10 and Playground Games will continue to support Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon 5.”

The reassurance is particularly welcome for Forza Motorsport, which launched in 2023 and has had a more modest reception compared to its open-world counterpart. By contrast, Forza Horizon 5—now nearly four years old—remains one of the most celebrated entries in the franchise. Its critical and commercial success continues to be evident, with the game recently debuting on Sony’s PlayStation 5 and topping sales charts there as well. The strong performance has fueled speculation about the potential arrival of Forza Horizon 6, with some rumors suggesting it may be closer than expected.

For Forza Motorsport, ongoing support will include the return of popular in-game content. The “Track Toys Tour” has been permanently reactivated in Career Mode, bringing back all four of its series along with the associated reward car, the 2019 Porsche #70 Porsche Motorsport 935. This marks the second Featured Tour to return, and Turn 10 has confirmed a new rotation plan: at the start of each month, a different Tour will be reintroduced, starting with the “Ringer Tour” on September 4. This schedule will continue until all Tours are available permanently.

While the long-term future of a new Forza Motorsport remains uncertain if Turn 10’s role has shifted entirely to support, both flagship racing titles will still receive regular updates, ensuring the community remains engaged.
