Fortnite Chapter Seven: Pacific Break Brings Players to the Golden Coast with New Self Revive and Expanded DBNO Options
Epic Games has officially launched Fortnite Chapter Seven: Pacific Break, the latest major season of the global gaming phenomenon. The new chapter follows the highly successful finale of Fortnite Chapter Six: Zero Hour, an event that brought together ten point five million players in game, with more than three million viewers watching live through various streaming platforms. Epic confirmed the release shortly after sharing the finale announcement through Fortnite’s official channel on X.
As players enter the new Golden Coast island, they will arrive through Storm Surf travel rather than the traditional Battle Bus drop. The destination is a completely reimagined sun filled map that can be explored on foot, by vehicle, and now with the addition of hot air balloons. Pacific Break features a wide range of new locations that set the tone for the season:
Battlewood Boulevard
Sandy Strip
Wonkeeland
Humble Hills
Bumpy Bay
Classified Canyon
Early previews and images showcase a landscape filled with vibrant environmental diversity, blending bright coastal regions with dense foliage, elevated viewpoints, and uniquely crafted zones across the Golden Coast.
Fortnite Chapter Seven introduces several major gameplay innovations designed to enhance combat pacing, survivability, and squad coordination. A key new system is the addition of drivable reboot vans, significantly expanding squad recovery abilities. Players also gain access to a self revive device that can be used when they enter the Down But Not Out state. DBNO has been meaningfully expanded with new mechanics such as rolling and tumbling to avoid enemy fire, sprinting by using Energy, riding ziplines or ascenders, climbing into vehicles as a passenger, and even being thrown into the back of a reboot van for emergency recovery.
Defeating major bosses like Human Bill, Hush, or Beach Brutus provides access to their powerful abilities and enhanced loot. These boss defeats grant full health and shield, increased maximum capacity, infinite energy, and a signature attack. However, the trade off is that the player’s location becomes visible to nearby opponents at all times.
New Rift anomalies now appear during each storm phase. These anomalies can summon loot or grant special effects to all players in the match. Epic Games confirmed that additional anomalies will be introduced as the season progresses.
To establish a more balanced starting economy for each match, gold bars no longer carry over between games. Players are encouraged to spend them before the match concludes to reboot teammates, hire characters, or purchase powerful gear from vending machines with refreshed inventories. Players can now also drop bars for teammates, allowing coordinated resource distribution.
Pacific Break also introduces a substantial series of quality of life updates including redesigned hit markers, improved visibility indicators, weapon inventory ammo status icons, the ability to aim down sights while jumping, and a spectator mode that automatically follows the nearest teammate. The emote wheel has also been fully reworked for easier access and greater customization.
Epic Games has also unveiled several new weapons with enhanced responsiveness, layered recoil behavior, and smoother transitions for aiming down sight. The reload system has been updated so that reload progress is preserved even when the magazine hits zero, a significant improvement for firefights.
The new weapon lineup includes:
Iron Pump Shotgun, a heavy impact shotgun for close range engagements
Twin Hammer Shotguns, dual wielded pump shotguns
Deadeye Assault Rifle, a scoped automatic rifle ideal for mid to long range precision
Holo Rush SMG, a compact scoped weapon designed for high speed close quarters combat
Vengeful Sniper Rifle, a bolt action sniper with high precision lethality
Arc Lightning Gun, an electrical weapon capable of damaging players, vehicles, and structures
Forsaken Vow Blade, a lightning fast melee blade that enables rapid movement and a series of swift strikes
Traversal receives a major boost this season with the introduction of the wingsuit, giving players the ability to glide across the Golden Coast and reach strategic points quickly.
A wide range of items returns from the Vault, including:
All Terrain Kart, along with traditional sports cars and SUVs
Enforcer AR, Tactical Pistol, and Dual Micro SMG
Shockwave and Clinger grenades
Chug Jugs, Shield Kegs, Med Kits, Bandages, Shield Potions, and Mini Shield Potions
Zero Build exclusive returns: Shield Bubble Jrs and Port a Bunkers
The new Battle Pass for Fortnite Chapter Seven: Pacific Break features a strong lineup of crossover and original characters. Players can seek revenge as The Bride, journey through time with Marty McFly, or unlock Fortnite original characters like Miles Cross and Cat Holloway. A new version of Dark Voyager also joins the roster. Each of the three featured outfits includes special Styles unlocked through specific game modes: Cat Holloway through Blitz Royale, Carter Wu through Reload, and Dark Voyager through Battle Royale.
Fortnite Chapter Seven: Pacific Break marks a significant step forward for the game’s evolving identity. With new movement mechanics, deeper squad support systems, expanded map traversal, and a reinvigorated arsenal, the season sets the stage for a fast paced and community driven experience.
Which new mechanic are you most excited to try in Pacific Break and how do you think the self revive feature will change squad strategy
