EA Debuts Our First Look At the Battlefield 6 Campaign During Sony’s State of Play
Sony’s latest State of Play presentation featured several major announcements, including the gameplay reveal and release date for Saros, the confirmation of Nioh 3’s February 2026 launch, and the surprise debut of the single-player campaign for Battlefield 6.
The return of a proper campaign to the Battlefield franchise is exciting news for shooter fans who have long wanted to see story-driven content alongside the multiplayer modes that define the series. More recent releases abandoned full campaigns, which left a noticeable gap for players who enjoyed both sides of the Battlefield experience.
In Battlefield 6, players will step into the boots of Dagger 13, a diverse squad comprised of four characters across different classes: Haz Carter (Assault), Dylan Murphy (Engineer), Simone “Gecko” Espina (Recon), and Cliff Lopez (Support).
“True to Battlefield, your squad is the key to accomplishing your mission in single player,” wrote Roman Campos-Oriola, creative director of the single-player campaign at Battlefield Studios, in a PlayStation Blog post.
“You’ll be able to command the rest of Dagger 13 to engage enemy forces as a group in order to suppress them as you reposition to snipe, flank them, or take out multiple foes with a well-thrown grenade. Additionally, as you step into the well-worn boots of different members of the squad, you’ll be able to take advantage of their respective abilities and talents to gain the upper hand when engaging the enemy.”
This tactical approach, combined with the franchise’s signature first-person shooting mechanics, suggests that Battlefield 6’s campaign could deliver a unique blend of explosive action and strategic squad-based gameplay. Fans may finally get the immersive single-player experience that feels tailor-made for the series.
Battlefield 6 will launch worldwide on October 10, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
