Marvel’s Wolverine New Trailer Provides First Look at Gameplay, Confirms Fall 2026 Release Window
Insomniac Games finally shared the long-awaited first gameplay trailer for Marvel’s Wolverine during the latest State of Play presentation, giving fans a look at Logan’s brutal combat style and teasing the environments players will explore in the upcoming adventure.
The trailer showcases the signature savagery of Wolverine’s fighting style, with violent, fast-paced encounters and plenty of blood. The tone is darker and more visceral than Insomniac’s Spider-Man games, drawing comparisons to the intensity of the Ninja Gaiden franchise, which is also renowned for its unapologetically brutal combat.
During the presentation, members of the development team provided more details on what to expect. Creative Director Marcus Smith, Executive Producer Eric Monacelli, and Senior Project Manager Jess Reiner Reed emphasized their commitment to delivering an authentic Wolverine experience. This includes not only capturing Logan’s ferocity but also integrating important Marvel characters such as Mystique and Omega Red, both of whom were confirmed to appear in the game.
The developers also confirmed the casting of Liam McIntyre as the voice and performance actor for Wolverine. McIntyre is best known for his role as Spartacus in the Starz TV series, as well as voicing JD Fenix in Gears of War 4 and Gears 5, and playing Taron Malico in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Based on the early gameplay footage, McIntyre appears to capture Logan’s essence with both grit and gravitas.
While State of Play did not provide a specific release date, it did confirm that Marvel’s Wolverine will launch exclusively on PlayStation 5 in Fall 2026, with more information promised in Spring 2026.
