Nioh 3 New Trailer Provides New Quick Look At Story and Gameplay, Confirms Release Date
A brand-new trailer for Nioh 3 was revealed during today’s State of Play presentation, offering fresh gameplay footage and confirming the official release date for Team NINJA’s highly anticipated action RPG.
The trailer, provides a glimpse into the game’s story, set in 1572 Japan during the Sengoku era. The narrative will feature real historical figures from the period while intertwining supernatural elements, staying true to the series’ mix of historical drama and mythological fantasy.
Gameplay-wise, Nioh 3 looks to elevate the franchise’s already complex combat system. The new entry will allow players to seamlessly switch between two distinct fighting styles in battle, providing more tactical variety. The level design has been expanded into more open environments, encouraging exploration while maintaining the series’ trademark tough-as-nails encounters. Regular enemies will pose greater challenges than before, and boss fights promise to push players’ skills to the limit.
The trailer also confirmed that Nioh 3 will officially launch on February 6, 2026, for PC and PlayStation 5, aligning with the Amazon Japan leak that surfaced earlier in the day.

Although release is still a few months away, PlayStation 5 players already had a chance to try an alpha demo, which was available for a limited time. Based on player feedback, Team NINJA and Koei Tecmo have pledged several refinements for the final release, including balance adjustments, tighter controls, and improved stage visibility. Visual upgrades are also on the way, such as enhanced Global Illumination, reduced fog density in certain levels, sharper textures, and overall improved graphical fidelity.
With its dual combat styles, expanded environments, and technical improvements, Nioh 3 is shaping up to be the most ambitious entry in the series yet. Fans won’t have to wait too much longer before diving back into its punishing but rewarding gameplay.
