Cronos: The New Dawn Sells 200K Units in Three Days, No Sequel Planned

Polish developer Bloober Team has shared the first sales update for its new sci-fi horror title Cronos: The New Dawn, confirming that the game sold 200,000 digital units across all major platforms in its first three days. The figure, revealed in a regulatory notice, is respectable but not exceptional given its wide release.

Despite a cautious reception, Bloober leadership remains optimistic. Speaking with Bankier.pl, CEO Piotr Babieno addressed investor concerns about development costs:

“The costs of creating Cronos: The New Dawn were estimated at over PLN 100 million ($27.4 million). I can assure you that the development budget was certainly not that high, and even though we are counting on very good sales results, the break-even point is not as high as analysts indicate. We are completely confident about the company’s investment growth and earnings.”

Babieno emphasized that while there are no current plans for a sequel, Bloober may explore transmedia opportunities, including potential cinema or television adaptations. On the gaming front, he noted that the studio is already working on larger projects scheduled for the next few years, expressing confidence that 2026 and beyond will be even stronger for the company.

Cronos: The New Dawn arrives at a competitive moment in the market, with Hollow Knight: Silksong dominating much of the conversation in recent weeks. Still, Bloober believes its controlled development costs and long-term strategy put the studio in a stable position moving forward.

Do you think Cronos deserves a sequel despite its cautious start, or should Bloober continue focusing on new IP and bigger projects?
