Acclaim Returns With Nine Titles at PlayAcclaim Showcase, Including Katanaut
The legendary 90s video game publisher Acclaim has officially returned to the modern gaming industry. Earlier this year the company announced its revival, and today it hosted its first PlayAcclaim showcase, unveiling nine titles currently under its publishing banner. Headlining the showcase was the launch of Katanaut, a new 2D action-horror game that is now available on Steam.

Acclaim CEO Alex Josef expressed enthusiasm about the publisher’s new direction:
“We’re ecstatic to relaunch Acclaim with a lineup that captures our legacy of bold creativity and delivers fresh, unforgettable experiences. These games are just the beginning of our mission to redefine fun for players everywhere.”
While Katanaut was the only new title to debut today, Basketball Classics, originally released in 2019, has officially joined Acclaim’s catalog, with publishing rights now transferred. In addition, demos for Katanaut and Pixel Washer are available now on Steam for those eager to try them firsthand.
With its mix of nostalgic inspiration and modern indie innovation, Acclaim’s return represents a bold new chapter for a publisher once synonymous with the arcade and console eras of gaming.
