COLORFUL Launches iGame X870E VULCAN W OC With DDR5 10600+ Support

COLORFUL has officially launched the iGame X870E VULCAN W OC V14, a new flagship AM5 motherboard aimed directly at Ryzen enthusiasts and extreme memory overclockers. The white themed board builds on the existing VULCAN OC platform while introducing a redesigned all white appearance and retaining the 2 DIMM memory layout that has already demonstrated strong DDR5 overclocking potential. According to the official COLORFUL product page, the motherboard supports dual channel DDR5 speeds reaching 10600+ MT/s through overclocking and uses an 18+2+2 phase power design with 110A DrMOS stages.

The motherboard uses a 10 layer server grade PCB with 2 ounce copper and back drilling technology designed to improve signal integrity at extreme memory frequencies. COLORFUL has equipped the board with only 2 DDR5 DIMM slots, an increasingly common choice among specialized overclocking motherboards because shorter and simpler memory traces can provide stronger electrical characteristics when pushing DDR5 toward very high frequencies. The company also integrates dedicated tuning controls including BCLK adjustment, BIOS switching, debugging features and quick overclocking controls, alongside its X3D AI High Frame Rate mode for AMD Ryzen X3D processors.

Memory performance is already one of the strongest arguments behind the new board. The same iGame X870E VULCAN W OC platform previously pushed CXMT based DDR5 beyond 8800 MT/s on AMD AM5, including 32 GB and 48 GB configurations using COLORFUL iGame Shadow II memory. More recent testing has taken Chinese CXMT based DDR5 to approximately 9000 MT/s, further demonstrating how quickly both CXMT memory silicon and motherboard BIOS tuning are improving. COLORFUL officially rates the new board for DDR5 10600+ MT/s overclocking, although achievable frequencies will continue to depend heavily on the processor memory controller, DRAM IC quality, cooling and individual module binning.

Storage and connectivity are equally aggressive. The iGame X870E VULCAN W OC provides 5 M.2 slots, including 2 PCIe 5.0 x4 connections and 3 PCIe 4.0 x4 slots. The rear I/O includes 2 USB4 Type C ports operating at up to 40 Gbps with display output support reaching 4K 60 Hz, while the front USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type C connector supports 20 Gbps transfers and up to 60W Power Delivery. Networking consists of Realtek 5GbE Ethernet alongside WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.

COLORFUL has also carried over its customizable Vulcan Smart Display, which can provide hardware monitoring information directly from the motherboard. Large heatsinks cover the power delivery hardware, with heat pipe assisted cooling designed for sustained high load operation. The board supports iGame Center for synchronized lighting management across compatible memory, cooling and system components, while dedicated rear controls provide BIOS flashing and CMOS clearing without requiring users to enter the operating system.

The iGame X870E VULCAN W OC is priced at 3999 RMB in China, positioning it firmly inside the premium enthusiast motherboard segment. That puts COLORFUL into increasingly direct competition with specialized X870E overclocking boards from ASUS, MSI, GIGABYTE and ASRock, where memory topology, BIOS maturity and extreme frequency validation can matter just as much as conventional expansion features.

The iGame X870E VULCAN W OC is important for COLORFUL because it shows the company moving beyond attractive enthusiast hardware and deeper into the extreme overclocking market. A 2 DIMM topology, 10 layer PCB and serious memory tuning are exactly the ingredients expected from dedicated overclocking boards, while the recent CXMT results give COLORFUL something more meaningful than specification sheet numbers.

The CXMT connection is particularly interesting. Chinese DDR5 has progressed rapidly from mainstream speeds toward frequencies that were previously dominated by highly tuned SK hynix based modules. Reaching 8800 MT/s and now approaching 9000 MT/s does not mean every retail CXMT kit will perform at those levels, but it does show that the performance gap is narrowing. COLORFUL appears determined to make the VULCAN W OC one of the platforms helping push that transition.
