Beast of Reincarnation Patch 1.0.8 Adds Camera Fixes as Frame Generation and Ultrawide Support Come Next
Game Freak and Fictions have released Beast of Reincarnation patch 1.0.8, continuing the rapid series of improvements introduced after the action RPG launched earlier this month. According to the official patch 1.0.8 notes, the update adds new camera distance options, further combat and cinematic camera adjustments, larger subtitle controls, navigation improvements, balance changes, additional PC controls, and several fixes requested by players. The developers have also confirmed that Frame Generation, ultrawide monitor support, and skippable cutscenes are currently being developed for upcoming updates.
Camera behavior receives another substantial revision after being one of the most common complaints surrounding the game. Players can now select Close, Medium, or Far camera distances, while Game Freak has adjusted camera behavior both inside and outside combat along with selected cinematic camera cuts. Event triggering has also been revised to reduce consecutive cutscenes when moving between areas, while Brad's dialogue when entering a new area can now be activated manually instead of starting automatically. The developers say additional camera improvements will continue in future patches.
Combat receives several useful quality improvements. Enemies will now have their attacks interrupted while Emma performs Execution, Execution Assist, Assassination, or Assassination Assist animations, reducing situations where players could complete an animation only to immediately take unavoidable damage. Bloom Arts have received increased damage and HP recovery, selected bosses and enemy placements have been adjusted, while Emma no longer takes damage from falling or becoming partially submerged in water. The main path through the Pilgrim's Zone has also been shortened, allowing players to travel directly toward the Belfry without passing through the Cave or Stone Chamber.
PC players receive DLSS 4 and DLSS 4.5 alongside AMD FSR 4 support, building on the technical improvements introduced shortly after launch. Beast of Reincarnation DLSS 4.5 and FSR 4 update, image reconstruction was one of the first major PC issues addressed by Game Freak. Patch 1.0.8 now confirms that Frame Generation is planned to arrive soon, potentially providing another important performance option for a game whose PC requirements already rely heavily on reconstruction technologies.
Several other highly requested features remain in development. Ultrawide monitor support is currently in the final stages of testing, while Game Freak is working on allowing events and cutscenes to be skipped. The developer says implementing cutscene skipping has created more technical challenges than originally expected, meaning the functionality could be introduced gradually across multiple updates. Future patches will also allow healing immediately after taking damage, reduce Emma's movement slowdown while healing, improve boss camera behavior, adjust invisible walls and collision boundaries, prevent Koo from obstructing the player's view, and address inconsistent landing positions during leaps.
Beast of Reincarnation remains rated Mixed on Steam after its August 3 PC release, showing that Game Freak still has work ahead despite the rapid response to community feedback. The studio has now delivered 2 significant patches within the opening weeks and continues treating player feedback as an active part of development rather than limiting support to conventional bug fixes.
Patch 1.0.8 is another meaningful improvement, but the more important development is what comes next. Frame Generation and ultrawide support address 2 of the largest technical omissions from the PC release, while skippable cutscenes could directly improve one of the most criticized aspects of the campaign.
Game Freak has responded unusually quickly, but many of these features arguably should have existed at launch. The next few updates will determine whether Beast of Reincarnation can move beyond repairing its initial weaknesses and establish the technical foundation its combat system and world deserve.
Are Frame Generation, ultrawide support, and skippable cutscenes enough to make you return to Beast of Reincarnation, or are you waiting for more substantial performance and story improvements?
