Arc System Works Shows New Look at Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, Closed Beta Coming in December

Arc System Works made an anticipated appearance during the State of Play Japan event, showcasing new gameplay and updates for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls. While fans were hoping for a firm release date, the studio reaffirmed its current launch window of 2026. However, players will not have to wait long for another hands-on opportunity, as a new closed beta will take place before the end of the year.

During the livestream, Arc System Works highlighted fresh gameplay footage and brought two of the game’s developers on stage to discuss the project. They explained the studio’s ambition to merge traditional Japanese art styles with the illustrative flair of American comic books, aiming to create a unique visual identity that sets Marvel Tokon apart from other fighting games.

The next closed beta for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls will run from December 5 through December 7. This test introduces Spider-Man and Ghost Rider as newly playable characters, alongside two new stages and a significant set of adjustments based on player feedback from the earlier closed beta held earlier this year.

Arc System Works also outlined how eligibility for the upcoming beta works. Players who both registered and participated in the first closed beta are automatically guaranteed access. Those who registered but did not participate should watch their email inbox for an invitation. New participants can register for a chance to join the December test via the official closed beta registration page.

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is scheduled to launch on PC and PlayStation 5 sometime in 2026. With iconic characters, stylish visuals, and Arc System Works’ signature fighting game pedigree, anticipation continues to build as development progresses.
