AMD Adrenalin 26.7.1 Adds Radeon RX 9050 and New Game Support
AMD has released Software Adrenalin Edition 26.7.1, introducing official driver support for the new Radeon RX 9050 alongside optimizations for the Gears of War: E Day Open Beta Early Access and Out of Control Evolution.
The addition of Radeon RX 9050 support provides further confirmation that AMD and its board partners are preparing to bring the entry level RDNA 4 graphics card to selected markets. The GPU features 16 Compute Units and 1024 Stream Processors, positioning it below the Radeon RX 9060 family as AMD’s most affordable RDNA 4 desktop option.
The official 8 GB configuration uses 18 Gbps GDDR6 memory across a 128 bit interface, delivering 288 GB per second of bandwidth. A separate 4 GB variant has also appeared through board partner listings, reducing the memory interface to 64 bit and cutting bandwidth to approximately 144 GB per second.
The 8 GB Radeon RX 9050 has a typical board power rating of 92W and is designed as a 1080p gaming solution. Regional pricing has reportedly been set at approximately $279, although AMD has not announced a universal global MSRP.
Adrenalin Edition 26.7.1 also adds early game support for the Gears of War: E Day Open Beta and Out of Control Evolution. This should provide Radeon owners with platform specific optimizations and compatibility improvements before playing either release.
AMD has also resolved several issues affecting Radeon RX 7000 series and newer graphics cards. Model flickering and rendering failures experienced in Maxon Cinema 4D and Blender should now be corrected, alongside intermittent Blender crashes affecting selected systems.
The driver addresses an issue that could prevent directional indicator icons from appearing correctly in Fortnite. AMD has also fixed intermittent crashes in games using FSR Upscaling 4.1 on Windows 10 systems equipped with Radeon RX 7000 series graphics cards.
Battlefield 6 users with Radeon RX 9000 series hardware should now see AMD FSR Upscaling and Frame Generation correctly displayed as active within the Adrenalin Edition interface. The features could previously appear inactive in the software even when they were enabled inside the game.
Several known issues remain. Battlefield 6 may experience intermittent crashes or driver timeouts on systems using the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, while texture flickering or corruption may appear when AMD Record and Stream is active on selected graphics products.
AMD also warns that Smart Access Memory may become disabled after installing the driver on Windows 10. Users should verify the feature inside the Adrenalin interface or system BIOS after completing the update.
The driver supports Windows 11 version 21H2 and later, alongside Windows 10 64 bit version 21H2 and later. AMD recommends that laptop and all in one computer owners prioritize drivers supplied by their system manufacturer, since these packages may contain device specific optimizations.
Adrenalin Edition 26.7.1 is not a major feature update, but it is strategically important for AMD’s expanding RDNA 4 portfolio. Official driver support indicates that the Radeon RX 9050 software ecosystem is ready as board partners prepare regional availability.
The Blender, Cinema 4D, Fortnite, and FSR corrections also make this a worthwhile update for Radeon RX 7000 and RX 9000 owners. However, Windows 10 users should check whether Smart Access Memory remains enabled after installation, particularly if gaming performance changes unexpectedly.
