The Crew Motorfest, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered and Squirrel with a Gun Lead April 2026’s PS Plus Extra Lineup

Sony has officially revealed the April 2026 PlayStation Plus Game Catalog additions, and this month’s Extra lineup is led by The Crew Motorfest, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, Football Manager 26 Console, Warriors: Abyss and more. According to the official PlayStation Blog announcement, all of the new Game Catalog titles will be available starting April 21, while Wild Arms 4 joins the Premium catalog on the same date.

The headline additions this time are clearly The Crew Motorfest and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered. Ubisoft’s open world racer brings its Hawaii setting and large vehicle roster to the service on both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, while Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered returns with upgraded visuals and features for PlayStation 5 players. That second addition is likely to generate mixed reactions, though, because this is not the first time Horizon has been tied to the service. Sony’s own listing notes that PS5 users get the remastered edition, while PS4 users get Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition.

Beyond those bigger names, this month’s selection leans into variety. Football Manager 26 Console joins for PlayStation 5 players, giving sports management fans one of the more niche but time consuming additions in the batch. Warriors: Abyss brings its action roguelite formula to both PS5 and PS4, while Monster Train adds a well regarded deckbuilding strategy option for players who want something more systems driven. Sony is also bringing in The Casting of Frank Stone for horror fans and Squirrel with a Gun, which easily wins the prize for strangest premise in the lineup.

That makes this a solid if slightly uneven month. There is a reasonable spread of genres here, but it does not have quite the same punch as a truly stacked catalog refresh. The Crew Motorfest is a strong pickup, and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered still carries weight as a first party name, yet the overall batch feels more like a respectable service update than a major momentum shifting month. For players who enjoy oddball indies, racing games, horror, or management sims, there is still plenty to work with. For everyone else, this may feel more selective than essential.

On the Premium side, Wild Arms 4 is the Classic Catalog addition for April. Sony says the PlayStation 2 RPG will be playable with enhancements such as up rendering, rewind, quick save, and custom video filters, which continues the company’s current approach to legacy catalog releases on modern hardware.

In the end, April’s batch looks like one of those months that will land very differently depending on taste. It is not a weak selection, but it is also not the kind of lineup that instantly sells the value of the higher PS Plus tiers on headline power alone. Still, with racing, horror, strategy, action, and one armed squirrel all arriving at once, Sony has at least delivered variety.

What do you think of this month’s PS Plus Extra lineup, and which game are you actually planning to download first?
