Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Wins Best Game at the BAFTA Games Awards 2026 as Awards Season Closes With a Strong Final Push

The BAFTA Games Awards 2026 have now wrapped, and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 added another major Game of the Year style victory to its growing awards run by taking home Best Game at this year’s ceremony. BAFTA’s official winners announcement confirms that Sandfall Interactive’s RPG won 3 awards total, including Best Game, Best Debut Game, and Best Performer in a Leading Role for Jennifer English.

While Clair Obscur entered the ceremony as the most nominated title, this was not a complete sweep. The night was more broadly distributed than some recent awards shows, with Dispatch also earning 3 wins, while Ghost of Yotei secured 2 awards. Other games that walked away with major wins included Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, ARC Raiders, Blue Prince, South of Midnight, Atomfall, Despelote, LEGO Party!, and No Man’s Sky.

One reason this result stands out is how it strengthens Clair Obscur’s broader position in the 2025 awards cycle. Coverage following the BAFTAs noted that the game has now completed a sweep of the 5 biggest annual game awards bodies, making it only the second title ever to do so after Baldur’s Gate 3. That gives Sandfall Interactive one of the most impressive debut award runs in recent years.

With the BAFTAs now complete, the awards conversation around 2025 releases is effectively closed, and Clair Obscur leaves that cycle as one of the clearest critical winners of the year. Even so, BAFTA’s spread of winners showed that this was not a one game ceremony. Dispatch had a strong night, Ghost of Yotei performed well in craft categories, and games like ARC Raiders, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, South of Midnight, and Blue Prince all secured meaningful recognition.
