Xbox Launches ‘Stream Your Own Game’ Feature on PC App, Expanding Cloud Gaming Flexibility

Microsoft has officially rolled out its ‘Stream Your Own Game’ feature on the Xbox PC app, following its debut on Xbox consoles in November 2024. The feature, which operates through Xbox Cloud Gaming, is now accessible for PC users in the 28 countries where Xbox Cloud Gaming is available. A Game Pass Ultimate subscription is still required to take advantage of this functionality.

This update allows players to stream over 250 compatible games from their personal Xbox library through the cloud. The flexibility lets users play their own purchased titles across devices without requiring local installation. This aligns with Microsoft’s goal of broadening access and play-anywhere convenience in its ecosystem. The full list of games that can currently be streamed is available at the official site.

Some of the notable supported titles include:

  • Baldur’s Gate 3

  • Cyberpunk 2077

  • Assassin’s Creed Mirage and Shadows

  • Star Wars Outlaws

  • Final Fantasy XVI

  • The Witcher 3

  • Hogwarts Legacy

  • Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

  • Remnant 2

  • Lies of P

  • Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

  • Valheim

  • The Crew Motorfest

  • The Division 2

  • Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2

This list is expected to grow as more titles become compatible with the streaming backend.

Additionally, Xbox Insiders will notice further enhancements to the PC app. These include a new cross-platform play history tracker, enabling users to view their gameplay activity across both console and PC. Another new addition is a reward tracking system that monitors in-game actions and milestones that contribute to Microsoft Rewards progress.

With this feature, Microsoft continues to reinforce its commitment to cloud-based accessibility and user flexibility. The expansion to PC opens the doors for players who prefer the desktop environment while maintaining the portability and device-switching ease that cloud gaming provides.
