CyberPowerPC Announces Price Increases for Its Gaming PCs Due to Massive RAM and SSD Cost Surge

CyberPowerPC has confirmed that it will raise prices across all of its pre built gaming systems beginning December 7, 2025, citing extreme increases in the cost of DDR5 RAM and NAND based SSDs. According to CyberPowerPC, RAM prices have spiked by an astonishing 500 percent, while SSD costs have doubled. Although the broader consumer market has seen DDR5 kits climb by two to four times in price over the past months, CyberPowerPC notes that some modules have reached levels as high as six times higher than before. In certain regions, 64 GB DDR5 kits have exceeded 800 USD, nearly four times their typical pricing.

NAND flash pricing has also risen sharply, driving SSD costs upward and pressuring system integrators and mini PC makers to adjust retail prices. As a result, CyberPowerPC warns that even budget gaming builds will likely see increases of 100 to 200 USD, with higher tier configurations affected even more dramatically due to premium memory capacities.

The timing could not be worse for consumers. With Black Friday and holiday sales underway, many gamers hoped to upgrade while prices were low. Instead, the ongoing memory supercycle, fueled by unprecedented AI related demand, is shifting manufacturing capacity toward high margin enterprise memory. This leaves the gaming and consumer markets absorbing the brunt of the shortages.

AI data centers, particularly those requiring HBM and high speed DDR5, continue to consume the majority of global memory supply. As memory vendors prioritize AI contracts, consumer DDR5 and SSD availability remains constrained, pushing prices higher across the PC industry.

The situation shows no signs of slowing. Analysts predict that DRAM and NAND shortages could continue well into 2027, meaning that the price hikes seen today may only be the beginning.
