Ubisoft Confirms New Rayman Game in Development at Milan and Montpellier Studios
As part of the 30th anniversary of Rayman, Ubisoft has confirmed that work on a new entry in the beloved franchise is underway. The project is being developed in collaboration between Ubisoft Milan and Ubisoft Montpellier, the studio where Rayman was originally created in 1995.
In a celebratory video message, Loic Gounon, Brand Producer for Rayman, reflected on the character’s history and teased the upcoming project:
“I joined Ubisoft twenty years ago, and I’ve been on the franchise since 2006 on projects such as Rayman Raving Rabbids, Rayman Origins, and Rayman Legends. Rayman was born at Ubisoft Montpellier back in 1995, and for the past thirty years, he has gone on many adventures thanks to studios across the world like Ubisoft Paris, Ubisoft Milan, or Ubisoft Annecy. Starting now and across our community channels, we are taking a moment to celebrate this incredible history by looking back. We will be sharing behind the scenes, anecdotes, developer interviews, concept art, and more throughout the months to come. Rayman couldn’t have become such a legend without all of you, the fans. You have helped to keep his legacy going, and we’re incredibly thankful for that. As we said in the past, a very talented team at Ubisoft Montpellier and Ubisoft Milan are currently working together on the future of Rayman. Don’t expect news from us too soon, but rest assured, Rayman is in good hands.”
The announcement is part of Ubisoft’s broader anniversary plans, which will highlight the franchise’s history through retrospectives, developer interviews, concept art, and community-driven content across official channels.
What We Know About the New Rayman Project
While Ubisoft has not shared specifics about the nature of the game, reports suggest that the project may be a remake of a prior Rayman title, rather than a completely new entry. The speculation originates from a rumor published last October by Insider Gaming, whose editor Tom Henderson is known for reliable Ubisoft leaks.
If true, fans may see a modernized version of one of Rayman’s earlier adventures, revitalized with today’s technology while preserving the charm that made the franchise iconic.
Ubisoft emphasized that fans should not expect updates on the new Rayman game in the immediate future. Given the scale of modern AAA development, the project could still be years away. Nonetheless, the confirmation that Ubisoft Montpellier and Ubisoft Milan, both highly regarded for their contributions to the series are collaborating provides reassurance that Rayman’s legacy is in skilled hands.
For now, fans can look forward to a year of anniversary celebrations while waiting for the limbless hero’s return.
Do you hope Ubisoft is working on a full new adventure for Rayman, or would you welcome a remake of one of his classic games?
