Titan Quest II Early Access Pushed to Summer 2025 as Grimlore Games Responds to Player Feedback

The highly anticipated action RPG Titan Quest II will now enter Early Access in Summer 2025, developer Grimlore Games confirmed in a recent announcement on X (formerly Twitter) via @TitanQuestGame. Originally slated for an earlier debut, the decision to delay was driven by a mix of an increasingly crowded release calendar and a commitment to implement vital feedback collected from a recent community playtest.

Playtest Success, But Room for Refinement

Grimlore Games expressed gratitude to the thousands of fans who participated in the early demo playtest. According to the studio, over 92% of players rated their experience as "positive" or "very positive." Longtime fans of the franchise were especially pleased with how well the game retains the essence of the original Titan Quest, while introducing modernized systems to bring the game into a new era.

The playtest featured the first chapter of the game, in which players could choose between two masteries and battle the first boss, Appollonia the Terrible — a highlight for many. The game's visuals and audio design were both highly praised, scoring 5.25/6 and 5.16/6, respectively, while exploration and environmental storytelling were frequently cited as standout features.

However, not all feedback was glowing. Combat fluidity, skill targeting, and balance issues emerged as key areas requiring improvement. Grimlore has confirmed that these concerns are actively being addressed, alongside performance optimizations. Additionally, the studio is developing a customizable control scheme and introducing revamped UI indicators, all based directly on community input.

A Vengeful Goddess and a Custom Class System

Set in a mythical Greco-Roman world, Titan Quest II pits players against Nemesis, the vengeful goddess of retribution who is corrupting the threads of fate itself. As one of those cursed by Nemesis, the player must rally alongside the gods to rewrite destiny and restore order to the world.

In true Titan Quest fashion, the sequel emphasizes deep customization. Players will combine two masteries to form a unique class with hybrid playstyles, unlocking synergies through a dynamic mix of skill modifiers, attributes, and item-based builds.

Looking Ahead

With a newly targeted Summer 2025 Early Access release, Grimlore Games is clearly taking the time to refine and elevate the experience, ensuring that Titan Quest II meets both player expectations and the legacy of its legendary predecessor.

Will the wait be worth it? Are you planning to try out the new mastery combinations and battle Nemesis when Early Access opens next summer? Let us know what excites you most about the return of Titan Quest.
