These Hollow Knight: Silksong Mods Make The Game More Fun Without Breaking Challenge

Hollow Knight: Silksong is already proving to be a tougher adventure than its predecessor, but fans are wasting no time in creating mods to fine-tune the experience. In the past few days, several mods have been released that make the game more manageable and enjoyable - without removing the challenge that defines the series.

One of the most practical additions is the Always Have Compass Effect mod, available on Nexus Mods. This tweak permanently shows Hornet’s position on the map without the need to equip the Compass charm. By freeing up a charm slot, players can experiment with other beneficial abilities. However, it’s worth noting that this mod is not compatible with the Game Pass version of the game.

Another clever tweak is No More 2 Damage Plus. This mod ensures that all damage Hornet receives is reduced to one point per hit, regardless of the attack. While seemingly minor, it makes a huge difference against enemies with multi-hit attacks that can otherwise deplete health rapidly. The change keeps the game challenging but avoids those frustrating moments where a single mistake results in overwhelming punishment.

Finally, for players who don’t mind shaking up the in-game economy, the All Enemies Drop Rosary Beads mod. True to its name, this modification ensures every enemy drops Rosary Beads upon defeat. The formula used is extra bead = floor(max health / 5), which some feel may be too generous. Still, it provides a welcome way to make upgrades and progression smoother, especially for those who want to spend less time farming.

With Hollow Knight: Silksong now available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One, the modding community is already expanding the game’s possibilities. Whether you want a fairer fight or simply more freedom in exploration, these mods offer useful quality-of-life changes without stripping away the difficulty that makes the series so rewarding.

Would you try these mods on your first playthrough, or would you rather keep Silksong’s difficulty pure?
