Team17 and Expression Games Unveil New Hell Let Loose: Vietnam Gameplay Trailer Showcasing 50v50 Warfare

Team17 and Expression Games have released a new look at Hell Let Loose: Vietnam, offering the most detailed gameplay showcase yet following its initial reveal at Gamescom 2025. The new trailer shifts away from the cinematic tone of the announcement teaser and instead delivers a full in engine preview of the brutal, sprawling battlefield experiences players can expect when the franchise moves from World War II into the Vietnam War era.

The gameplay trailer highlights a massive 50 versus 50 combat setup, reinforcing the series’ signature large scale tactical warfare. In this new “war with no front lines”, squads will push through dense jungles, fortified encampments, and open terrain designed to challenge both positioning and communication. The game will launch with six Vietnam themed maps, each offering distinct tactical scenarios including ambush friendly foliage, open rice fields, river networks, and entrenched village combat zones.

For the first time in the series, players will deploy from helicopters, allowing dynamic insertion points across the battlefield. American forces can perform rapid airborne deployments or coordinated aerial assaults, while river based combat is introduced through patrol boats, offering new flanking routes and defensive strategies. North Vietnamese forces will gain access to a tunnel movement system, enabling stealth repositioning, hit and run tactics, and surprise counterattacks that capitalize on asymmetric warfare.

Although the trailer presents substantial in engine gameplay, Team17 has confirmed that Hell Let Loose: Vietnam still targets a broad 2026 release window. No specific release date has been provided, though the level of gameplay shown suggests development is progressing steadily.

Expression Games also reiterates its ongoing commitment to supporting the original Hell Let Loose, confirming that the World War II entry will continue receiving updates even after Vietnam launches. Unlike the original game, which entered early access before reaching full release, Hell Let Loose: Vietnam appears to be planned as a complete 1.0 launch to deliver a more polished and fully featured experience from day one.

Hell Let Loose: Vietnam aims to evolve the franchise with new vehicles, new environments, asymmetric faction tools, and expanded tactical depth while maintaining the intense teamwork and communication driven gameplay that defined the series.

Are you excited to take on 50v50 tactical warfare in the Vietnam setting? Which new mechanic are you looking forward to: helicopters, river patrol boats, or tunnel networks?
