Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon Update 1.1 Brings New Game+, Transmog, New Dungeons, and More

Independent studio Questline has released a major new patch for its open-world action RPG Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon. Update 1.1 is one of the game’s most feature-rich updates since launch, adding long-requested systems, new content, and major quality-of-life improvements.

The patch introduces New Game Plus (NG+), giving players the ability to replay the game with their existing builds and gear, along with a transmog system that allows them to customize appearances without sacrificing stats. Fans of exploration and combat have plenty to look forward to as well, with three new dungeons, six new quests, redesigned areas, and expanded loot tables. Act 3 (Forlorn Swords) has also been reworked with three new caves and more rewards.

Alongside the fresh content, Update 1.1 improves the overall experience with third-person camera enhancements, late-game console stability upgrades, and a host of visual and audio refinements, including new enemy sound effects and additional tracks composed by Dzivia.

For players who enjoy customization, the update introduces new weapons and armor sets, the Origin Potion crafting recipe, and expanded functionality for Qrko, the in-game pet, who can now appear in new forms, including as a mount and summon.

Questline also packed in numerous bug fixes and minor tweaks. The full changelog is available on the game’s Steam news hub, and a 20-minute overview by YouTuber WolfheartFPS offers a detailed walkthrough of the changes for those who prefer a visual summary.

Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon launched in May 2025 after a lengthy early access period. Since release, the game has built a dedicated following, selling an estimated 520,000 to 645,000 units on Steam and maintaining an 88% positive user review rating. With the addition of NG+, transmog, and significant new content, Update 1.1 further solidifies its status as one of the standout indie RPGs of the year.

Will you be jumping back into Avalon with New Game Plus, or are you more excited about the customization possibilities with the new transmog system?
