NVIDIA Releases Game Ready Driver 581.29 Optimized for Borderlands 4 and Dying Light: The Beast

NVIDIA has rolled out its latest Game Ready driver (version 581.29), timed to deliver full optimization for two major September releases: Gearbox’s Borderlands 4 (launching tomorrow) and Techland’s Dying Light: The Beast (arriving Friday, September 19). The update also expands support for DLSS 4 technologies, introduces new tools for RTX Remix modders, and strengthens performance scaling across GeForce RTX 50 GPUs.

According to NVIDIA, both upcoming titles will feature DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation, ensuring significant performance boosts on PC. Dying Light: The Beast goes further by supporting DLSS Ray Reconstruction, enhancing ray-traced effects such as global illumination and reflections. NVIDIA claims that with DLSS 4 Super Resolution, Frame Generation, and Multi Frame Generation enabled, Borderlands 4 performance can scale by up to 5.5x on a GeForce RTX 50 card.

Performance metrics shared by NVIDIA demonstrate the GeForce RTX 5090 averaging 256 FPS at 4K, max settings, with DLSS set to Performance mode. By comparison, the RTX 5080 tops out at 166 FPS under the same configuration, highlighting the performance gap within the 50-series lineup. Meanwhile, NVIDIA Reflex can reduce system latency in Borderlands 4 by up to 54%, an especially valuable feature for the fast-paced looter-shooter.

Gamers interested in upgrading can take advantage of NVIDIA’s Borderlands 4 + RTX 50 GPU bundle, available until Monday, September 22. Those without high-end PCs will still be able to play Borderlands 4 via GeForce NOW cloud streaming.

Beyond these two major titles, DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation has also been added to Predecessor, Omeda Studios’ team-based MOBA, which additionally supports DLAA and NVIDIA Reflex.

There’s also good news for creators: an update to RTX Remix, delivered through the NVIDIA app, introduces a powerful advanced particle system. This toolset allows modders to enhance traditional fire and smoke effects or create more fantastical elements, such as Portal-like particle visuals, with greater realism and flexibility.

With two blockbuster releases optimized, expanded DLSS 4 adoption, and RTX Remix upgrades, NVIDIA is ensuring its ecosystem remains at the forefront of both gaming performance and creative modding innovation.
