Space Marine 2 Modding Gets Massive Boost with Official Integration Studio Dev Tool Release

The modding scene for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 just took a major leap forward. Saber Interactive has officially released its internal development tool, Integration Studio, empowering PC modders with unprecedented access to the same toolkit used by the developers themselves. The result? A new era of creativity, deeper modifications, and enhanced support for the ever-expanding Space Marine 2 community.

This development follows the extraordinary achievements of the community, including the Nexus Mods team's impressive feat of expanding the PvE Operations mode to support 12 players—essentially turning it into an MMO-style raid.

Now, with the release of the Integration Studio (weighing under 50MB), creators can mod with more precision, speed, and functionality than ever before.

A Developer-Level Toolkit for the Community

In the official announcement, Space Marine 2 Game Director Dmitry Grigorenko emphasized the transformative power of the new editor:

“This is the exact same editor we use internally for all gameplay development. No more editing files in Notepad and praying you didn’t miss a bracket — Integration Studio makes editing anything SSL-related ten times faster, safer, and more intuitive.”

With this first public release of Integration Studio, modders now have access to:

  • Level scenarios

  • Game modes

  • Individual blueprints and custom gameplay logic

  • AI Behavior Trees (currently a work-in-progress)

  • AI Director customization

  • Abilities and melee combo editing

  • VFX editor for custom effects

  • UI and HUD interface elements
… and more features are planned in upcoming updates.

Grigorenko further added:

“We’re excited to see what you build next — whether it’s a cinematic campaign, wild new game mode, or something we never saw coming.”

Saber Delivers on Modding Promise

Saber Interactive had previously pledged to support Space Marine 2’s modding ecosystem, and with this move, they’ve delivered in full. This milestone is also a smart strategic play, given the game’s meteoric success: Space Marine 2 has already sold over five million copies in just three months, making it one of the biggest Warhammer games ever. The studio even confirmed that Space Marine 3 is in development, though a packed post-launch roadmap still lies ahead for the current installment.

The addition of Integration Studio dramatically extends the life cycle of Space Marine 2 on PC, inviting modders to create campaigns, overhauls, multiplayer expansions, and visual enhancements.

What do you hope to see from Space Marine 2’s modding scene now that dev-level tools are in players’ hands? Share your wildest modding dreams in the comments below.
