Chrono Odyssey MMORPG Launches Limited-Time Closed Beta Test on Steam This June

Kakao Games and South Korean developer Chrono Studio have officially announced a limited-time Closed Beta Test (CBT) for the highly anticipated Unreal Engine 5-powered MMORPG Chrono Odyssey, set to take place in June 2025 via Steam. Interested players can now request access directly from the Chrono Odyssey Steam page for a chance to join the early testing phase.

This marks the first major public play opportunity for Chrono Odyssey on PC, offering fans a glimpse into its time-warped fantasy world, as well as the chance to provide critical feedback that may help shape the game before its full release, which was previously targeted for late 2025. According to a publisher roadmap update, the CBT could significantly influence the release window depending on results.

Chrono Studio's Executive Producer Sangtae Yoon commented on the milestone:

“Chrono Odyssey represents years of passion and innovation. This closed beta is our invitation to players worldwide to help shape the future of this ambitious project. We cannot wait to play alongside you, experience the story, and see what each and every one of you think of our game.”

What to Expect in the Closed Beta

Set in a dynamic open world shaped by temporal rifts and time manipulation, Chrono Odyssey's CBT will showcase the game’s core combat mechanics, including Time Rewind and Time Dodge abilities. Players can choose between three of the six classes planned for the final release:

  • Swordsman

  • Berserker

Each class will have its unique skill trees, combat styles, and character-building options, showcasing the MMO’s flexible role system.

Chrono Odyssey is built with Unreal Engine 5, promising a seamless, visually stunning fantasy realm. According to Chrono Studio, players can expect:

  • Near-instantaneous world transitions

  • Expansive, fully explorable maps with dynamic weather and day-night cycles

  • Shifting terrain impacted by time anomalies

Additional full release features teased include:

  • Instanced dungeons and raid encounters

  • PvP combat

  • Gathering professions like logging, mining, skinning, and harvesting
