SHADOW Launches Next-Gen Cloud Gaming Tier ‘Neo’ with RTX 4060-Class Performance and Full PC Access
French cloud computing pioneer SHADOW has officially unveiled Neo, its next-generation tier for cloud gaming and remote computing. This newly launched tier replaces the existing Boost plan, bringing significantly enhanced performance across both gaming and productivity applications—while maintaining its $37.99 monthly price (taxes excluded). All current Boost users have been automatically upgraded to Neo.
Neo Tier Specifications: A Leap in Cloud Performance
The new SHADOW Neo tier offers a substantial performance jump—up to 150% faster in games and up to 200% improvement for software tasks. Here’s a look at the upgraded specs:
CPU: AMD EPYC – 8 vCores @ 3.25-3.8GHz
GPU: Server-grade NVIDIA RTX 2000 ADA 16GB (equivalent to RTX 4060 16GB)
RAM: 16GB DDR5
Network: 1Gbps fiber internet
Operating System: Windows 10/11
Support: DirectX 12, Vulkan 1.3, RTX, DLSS, FSR, Frame Generation
“Neo is our newest and most versatile cloud PC yet. Whether you’re gaming in 2K with RTX and DLSS, editing complex 3D models, or working on the go, SHADOW Neo gives you the power of a high-end PC — instantly and from anywhere,” said Olivier Abecassis, CEO of SHADOW.
Neo vs. Power Tier: An Upgrade Dilemma
The rollout of Neo raises important questions about the relevance of SHADOW’s Power tier. While Power users currently pay $50 monthly for a virtual machine equipped with an RTX 3070 Ti, the Neo’s RTX 4060-equivalent GPU offers more modern features such as DLSS Frame Generation, which is not available on the 3070 Ti.
Given the comparable gaming performance between the two and the added benefits on the Neo tier, SHADOW will likely need to reassess and upgrade the Power tier soon to justify its higher price point and keep it viable in the long term.
SHADOW vs. GeForce NOW: Full PC Access as a Differentiator
Critics may point out that $37.99/month is steep compared to alternatives like NVIDIA GeForce NOW, which offers RTX 4080-class GPUs for $20/month. However, SHADOW offers something that most competitors do not: a full Windows PC in the cloud.
This means:
You can install any software or platform of your choosing.
Mod support is fully functional for PC games, unlike on GeForce NOW or Boosteroid.
The system behaves exactly like a local PC, making it suitable for not just gaming, but video editing, 3D rendering, software development, and more.
SHADOW Neo is now live for new and existing customers, and with its modern GPU architecture and full-access design, it positions itself as one of the most flexible and powerful cloud PC solutions available today.
