Reigns: The Witcher Brings Swipe Driven Geralt Stories to PC and Mobile on February 25, 2026

CD Projekt RED is still holding back its next mainline chapter, with The Witcher 4 missing from recent headline showcases and not expected until at least 2027. In the meantime, The Witcher universe is getting a new release much sooner, with Reigns: The Witcher landing on PC and mobile devices on February 25, 2026. Built by developer Nerial and published by Devolver Digital, this spin off reframes Geralt’s adventures through the fast decision cadence the Reigns series is known for, turning iconic Witcher moments into a rapid fire sequence of choices where every swipe can push the story toward glory, disaster, or something in between.

Reigns: The Witcher does not retell the saga in a straightforward canon friendly way. Instead, it filters Geralt’s journey through Dandelion, with the bard effectively curating the narrative and presenting it as a living story you keep remixing across multiple runs. The core loop is simple and very Reigns: you swipe left or right to make decisions at key moments, steering the adventure toward different outcomes. Each run ends with Geralt meeting an untimely demise in one way or another, which is not a failure state as much as it is the intended progression engine. When a run ends, Dandelion adds to his growing log of tales, increasing your ability to chain together a more compelling performance on future attempts, even if the final story veers away from how you remember the original Witcher timeline.

This release is also a milestone moment for Nerial. Reigns: The Witcher is the 6th entry in the Reigns series, which will officially hit its 10 year anniversary in August 2026. The franchise started with Reigns and expanded with Reigns: Her Majesty, before applying the swipe decision format to major universes with strong results, including Reigns: Game of Thrones and Reigns: Three Kingdoms. Nerial also delivered the sci fi themed Reigns: Beyond as its most recent release ahead of the upcoming Witcher variant, keeping the formula evolving across genres and tones.

Outside of Reigns, Nerial is also known for Card Shark, one of 2022’s standout indie releases that turned heads with its bold visual style and deception focused gameplay. That background matters because it signals the studio is comfortable balancing strong art direction with systems that reward player mastery, which is exactly what The Witcher crossover needs to avoid feeling like a lightweight novelty.

Even with the wait for The Witcher 4 extending into 2027, Reigns: The Witcher gives fans a fresh touchpoint in 2026, and it doubles as a smart engagement play: short sessions, high replay value, and a format built for sharing outcomes and choices across social platforms. If CD Projekt RED has more Witcher announcements planned this year, this release sets the stage nicely by keeping the brand active without cannibalizing the mainline hype cycle.

What do you want most from Reigns: The Witcher, a hilarious Dandelion biased retelling, or genuinely tough choice chains that feel like Witcher morality puzzles in swipe form?
