Rainbow Six Siege Marks 10 Years With Wildcards LTM Featuring Chaotic Modifiers and Fan Callbacks

Rainbow Six Siege officially celebrated its ten year anniversary on December 1 2025, and Ubisoft is continuing the festivities with a brand new limited time mode designed to embrace the game’s long and often unpredictable history. Titled Wildcards, the new LTM is now live and will be available from December 15 2025 through January 5 2026, as confirmed on the official Rainbow Six Siege free access page.

Wildcards is built around one core idea chaos with intention. Each match is shaped by rotating modifiers that dramatically alter how Siege is played, pushing players to adapt on the fly and revisit some of the most memorable moments from the game’s decade long lifespan. Ubisoft describes the mode as a celebration of Siege’s evolution, and that philosophy is reflected in every round.

There are a total of 28 modifiers available in the Wildcards pool. Some directly impact operator and weapon selection, while others introduce unexpected gameplay elements. One modifier can restrict which operators or weapons are available, while another may introduce entirely new visual or mechanical twists. Among the most playful callbacks is the appearance of a massive Chicken suddenly filling the player’s view, referencing one of the most iconic and lighthearted moments in Rainbow Six Siege history.

Several modifiers fundamentally reshape match flow. Multipick allows teams to select the same operator multiple times, breaking long established team composition rules. Frag Domination randomly spawns frag grenades throughout the round, turning every engagement into a potential explosion. Frag Grenade Cooking equips attackers with the 556XI and defenders with the MP5K, while still allowing both sides to cook and throw grenades, creating fast paced and highly volatile encounters.

At the start of every round, both attacking and defending teams vote on which modifier they want to play with. Votes from both sides are combined, and if there is a tie, the game randomly selects a modifier. This system ensures that no two matches feel the same and reinforces the deliberately chaotic spirit of the mode. The result is an experience that leans into Siege’s tactical roots while temporarily discarding strict competitive balance in favor of creativity and fun.

The Wildcards LTM arrives during a major transition period for Rainbow Six Siege. Earlier this year, Ubisoft released the Rainbow Six Siege X update, which marked the most significant overhaul in the game’s history. With this update, Siege adopted a free to play model that allows players to access unranked matches, quick match, and Dual Front modes at no cost, along with a rotating selection of operators. The update also delivered the largest graphical upgrade the game has seen in ten years, modernizing visuals across maps and operators.

Players who want to go beyond the free experience can upgrade at any time. The Elite Edition includes 16 additional operators and unlocks access to all game modes, ranked playlists, and the Siege Cup for $19.99. For those who want the complete roster, the Ultimate Edition provides everything in the Elite Edition plus immediate access to all 52 operators for $39.99.

With Wildcards, Ubisoft is clearly leaning into celebration rather than competition, offering a mode that reflects Siege’s identity not just as a tactical shooter, but as a live service game shaped by a decade of community moments, balance experiments, and unforgettable quirks.

Have you jumped into the Wildcards mode yet, and which modifier best captures your favorite moment from Rainbow Six Siege’s ten year history?
