PUBG Is Ending Support for PS4 and Xbox One This November

PUBG Studios has officially announced that it will end support for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of PUBG: Battlegrounds later this year, shifting its focus entirely to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

In an update on the official PUBG website, the studio confirmed that starting November 13, 2025, PUBG Console will only be supported on current-generation hardware.

"As mentioned in our 2025 roadmap, we've been preparing to transition PUBG Console to current-generation consoles," the post reads. "Starting November 13, 2025, PUBG Console will be supported only on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S."

The studio describes this move as “necessary” to provide a more stable gameplay environment, enable smoother experiences for future updates, and ensure the long-term growth of PUBG Console.

While the decision affects players who have spent years on the PS4 and Xbox One versions, PUBG Studios expressed gratitude for the community’s support since the game’s console debut.

"It weighs heavily on us to deliver this news to our console players who have enjoyed PUBG on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One for so many years. We still vividly remember the epic battles, the heart-stopping moments, and the camaraderie that brought us together. We are deeply grateful for every moment you've spent with us over the past eight years. This was not a decision made lightly."

Account Transfers and How It Works

Players on PS4 and Xbox One will have their accounts preserved and ready for use on PS5 or Xbox Series X/S with no manual transfer process required. Simply logging in on a current-gen console will restore your account.

PlayStation users will need to download the native PS5 version of PUBG, as the PS4 edition will remain a separate, non-playable app.

Current-Gen Performance Targets

Once the transition is complete, performance will vary by platform:

  • PS5: 1440p / 60 FPS

  • PS5 Pro: 4K / 60 FPS

  • Xbox Series S: 1080p / 60 FPS or 1440p / 30 FPS

  • Xbox Series X: 4K / 60 FPS

The studio hopes the move will allow PUBG to take full advantage of modern console hardware, delivering a smoother and more visually enhanced battle royale experience.

Have you already upgraded to a current-gen console for PUBG, or will this change push you to finally make the leap?
