Pearl Abyss Showcases New Crimson Desert Gameplay Ahead of Gamescom 2025 Demo

Pearl Abyss has unveiled a brand-new 13-minute gameplay video for Crimson Desert, giving fans a deeper look at the highly anticipated open-world action-adventure RPG ahead of its Gamescom 2025 demo.

The new footage arrives shortly after the studio confirmed another delay in the game’s release, now targeting the first quarter of FY2026. This marks the second major pushback for Crimson Desert, which was originally expected earlier in 2025 following its Gamescom 2024 showcase, and later moved to a planned fall 2025 release that has now been postponed.

The gameplay showcase offers a mix of narrative-driven sequences, exploration, and extended combat. The highlight comes in the second half of the video, where protagonist Greymane Kliff faces off against the formidable boss Cassius Morten after a dramatic ambush sequence.

First announced back in 2019, Crimson Desert has been in development for nearly seven years by the time of its eventual release. Despite the lengthy wait, the new gameplay footage suggests a game that is steadily refining its mechanics and presentation. Fans will get a chance to try it firsthand at Gamescom 2025, where a playable demo will be available to attendees.

With its blend of cinematic storytelling, large-scale exploration, and dynamic combat, Crimson Desert continues to position itself as one of the most ambitious RPGs in development. While no exact release date has been confirmed, anticipation remains high as Pearl Abyss pushes toward delivering a polished final product.

Do you think Crimson Desert can live up to the hype after nearly seven years of development, or has the wait been too long?
