NVIDIA Reveals Gears of War: E Day RTX 5080 Founders Edition Giveaway
NVIDIA has revealed a custom GeForce RTX 5080 Founders Edition inspired by Gears of War: E Day, giving fans an opportunity to win the limited graphics card through its Summer of RTX 2026 campaign.
The graphics card retains the recognizable RTX 5080 Founders Edition design but adds a custom exterior wrap featuring artwork inspired by Marcus Fenix, Dominic Santiago, and the brotherhood at the center of the upcoming Gears of War prequel. NVIDIA describes the GPU as a one of a kind collector’s item created specifically for fans of the franchise. The company has not announced any changes to clock speeds, cooling, memory, or power limits, suggesting the customization is focused entirely on its visual presentation.
“Ready for a piece of Gears of War history? As part of GeForce Summer Nights during the Summer of RTX, we are giving away a custom GeForce RTX 5080 Founders Edition graphics card, which celebrates the unbreakable bond of brotherhood.
— NVIDIA
NVIDIA’s promotional announcement highlights 1 custom card for 1 winner, but the broader Summer of RTX official rules list 2 Gears of War: E Day custom wrapped RTX 5080 Founders Edition graphics cards among the complete campaign prize pool. Each card carries an approximate retail value of $1,599, although the custom model will not be offered through normal retail channels.
To participate, users must comment using the requested phrase or hashtag on a designated NVIDIA GeForce giveaway post. The current NVIDIA GeForce announcement asks participants to comment with #RTXPowersPlay. Eligible entries can be submitted through X, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitch, Reddit, or Discord, but each person receives only 1 entry regardless of how many supported platforms they use. Multiple comments do not provide additional chances to win.

The promotion remains open until September 18, 2026 at 5:00 PM Pacific Time. Participants must be at least 18 years old and reside in one of the regions listed in NVIDIA’s official rules. Eligible locations include Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, the United Kingdom, several European countries, parts of Australia, Canada excluding Quebec, and the United States excluding New York, Florida, Puerto Rico, and other territories. No purchase is required.
The giveaway also supports NVIDIA’s technical partnership with The Coalition for Gears of War: E Day. The PC version will launch with DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution, Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, NVIDIA Reflex, and ray tracing support for Unreal Engine 5.8 technologies including Lumen and MegaLights. MegaLights can produce ray traced shadows from as many as 100 individual light sources, while Nanite increases environmental and object detail significantly compared with Gears 5.
Gears of War: E Day launches on October 6, 2026. Early access to its multiplayer Open Beta begins on August 6 for preorder customers and PC Game Pass subscribers. The beta will include DLSS Super Resolution and NVIDIA Reflex, although NVIDIA has not confirmed whether Dynamic Multi Frame Generation or the complete ray tracing feature set will be enabled during the test period.
The custom RTX 5080 is primarily a collector focused celebration of Gears of War rather than a new graphics card model. Its value comes from the exclusive artwork and limited availability, not from increased performance over the standard Founders Edition.
It is also an effective showcase for NVIDIA’s growing strategy of connecting premium hardware giveaways with major PC launches. Gears of War: E Day is already positioned as an Unreal Engine 5 technical showcase, making the RTX 5080 a fitting platform for demonstrating DLSS 4.5, ray tracing, and the demanding lighting systems developed by The Coalition.
The most important clarification is that the individual promotion describes 1 featured winner, while the official Summer of RTX rules list 2 Gears themed cards across the wider campaign. Participants should therefore follow each designated NVIDIA post carefully rather than assuming that engagement across multiple platforms creates additional entries.
Would you keep this custom Gears of War RTX 5080 as a collector’s item, or install it immediately inside your gaming PC?
