NVIDIA Confirms “No New Hardware” at GeForce On Community Update, Will Focus on Features and GeForce NOW
NVIDIA has officially announced that its GeForce On Community Update will not include any new hardware reveals, putting to rest speculation about potential announcements surrounding the RTX 50 “SUPER” series. Instead, the presentation will focus on updates within the GeForce ecosystem and significant news regarding GeForce NOW, the company’s cloud gaming platform.
The showcase will premiere today at 12 PM PT across NVIDIA’s social media channels, including Twitch and YouTube, and is positioned as a lead-up to Gamescom 2025, which takes place in Cologne, Germany from August 20 to 24.
Focus on Features and GeForce NOW
According to NVIDIA, the presentation will highlight “the latest GeForce features,” which may involve improvements to in-game overlays, performance optimizations, or new tools for gamers and creators. The company also promised major updates to GeForce NOW, which could include expansions to its game library, feature upgrades, or service-wide optimizations.
In addition, NVIDIA confirmed that the update will showcase “highly anticipated games”, giving fans a preview of titles that will later appear at Gamescom with RTX enhancements.
No RTX 50 “SUPER” Reveal
Despite ongoing rumors, NVIDIA has made it clear that the event will not include announcements for the GeForce RTX 50 “SUPER” series or any other new GPU hardware. The company emphasized that the focus will remain on software, features, and games, with hardware news left for another time.
At Gamescom, NVIDIA will be showcasing the latest RTX-enabled titles, including Borderlands 2, Mecha BREAK, and Phantom Blade Zero, alongside giveaways that include RTX 50 GPUs and other fan prizes.
For those expecting new graphics cards, today’s event may be a disappointment. However, for players invested in NVIDIA’s ecosystem, the GeForce On update will deliver insights into how GeForce and GeForce NOW continue to evolve ahead of the gaming industry’s biggest European event.
