Ninja Gaiden 4 Unleashes 1 Hour of Gameplay as Team Ninja Details PlatinumGames Collaboration

The legendary Ninja Gaiden franchise is officially back in the spotlight, with a massive new gameplay showcase thrilling fans who feared the series had been left in the past. YouTuber GamersPrey has uploaded a full hour of stunning, commentary-free gameplay from Ninja Gaiden 4, offering an unfiltered look at the fast-paced, brutal combat that defined the series, now refined and revitalized for modern platforms.

It has been over a decade since the release of Ninja Gaiden 3 in 2012, which received lukewarm reviews and left the franchise in limbo. Now, Team Ninja is not only reviving the iconic series but doing so in collaboration with acclaimed Japanese action developer PlatinumGames, known for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, Nier: Automata, and the Bayonetta series.

In an interview with the Iron Lords Podcast, Game Director Masakazu Hirayama explained how the partnership came to be:

“For Team Ninja, Ninja Gaiden is a very important IP, so we have always wanted to create a new entry. Initially, our presidents, Mr. Ono from Team Ninja and Mr. Inaba from PlatinumGames, who are from the same generation and have had ongoing exchanges, discussed whether the two companies could collaborate on something new. Given PlatinumGames’ excellent track record with action games like Nier and Bayonetta, which we respect greatly, we thought it would be a great challenge to work together on a new Ninja Gaiden title. Furthermore, with support from Phil Spencer at Xbox, the project was able to come together as a three-way collaboration.”

Announced during the Xbox Developer Direct 2025, Ninja Gaiden 4 is scheduled to launch on October 21, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. On PC and Xbox, it will be available day one via Game Pass, with Xbox Game Studios publishing.

Fans can expect the signature blend of lightning-fast combat, punishing difficulty, and fluid movement that the series is known for, now enhanced with PlatinumGames’ flair for stylish action and precision gameplay systems.

Are you ready to take up the Dragon Sword again, or will the brutal difficulty keep you at bay this time?
