Ninja Gaiden 4 Showcases Accessible Hero Mode and Brutal Master Ninja Mode in New Trailer

During the Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2025 broadcast, Team Ninja revealed a new gameplay trailer for Ninja Gaiden 4, highlighting its range of difficulty settings designed to cater to both newcomers and veteran players. The upcoming action title will include the accessible Hero mode and the hardcore Master Ninja mode, ensuring that fans of all skill levels can engage with the game’s famously intense combat.

According to Xbox News, Hero mode is specifically crafted to lower the barrier of entry for players new to the series or character-action games in general. With toggles such as Auto Evade, Auto Block, and Auto Assist, the mode allows beginners to build the fundamentals necessary to eventually tackle the more traditional Normal or Hard difficulties. For the first time in the franchise, Training mode will also be available, providing a safe space for players to practice mechanics and prepare before diving into the main campaign.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, Master Ninja mode is described as the most punishing challenge the series has offered yet. Once selected at the start of a playthrough, this setting cannot be changed mid-game, locking players into a relentless experience featuring new enemy placements, late-game foes appearing earlier, and more aggressive AI across the board. Master Ninja mode is designed for series veterans seeking the ultimate test of skill and precision.

Hero mode’s accessibility options will not be the only features supporting player inclusivity in Ninja Gaiden 4, as the developers have confirmed additional accessibility settings to help ensure a wider range of players can enjoy the game’s brutal action.

Ninja Gaiden 4 launches worldwide on October 21, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S.

Will you test your skills on Master Ninja mode, or start with Hero mode to learn the ropes before taking on tougher challenges?
