MSI Unveils Limited Edition RTX 5080 for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4
MSI has officially unveiled the GeForce RTX 5080 16G COD MW4 EDITION OC, a limited edition graphics card developed in collaboration with Activision to celebrate the upcoming release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. Featuring a distinctive military inspired design, custom cooling aesthetics, and NVIDIA's Blackwell architecture, the graphics card will launch on October 23, 2026, alongside the game.
According to MSI's official announcement, the special edition features a black and yellow exterior inspired by Modern Warfare 4, including a fully painted yellow heatsink that MSI describes as an industry first. The metal backplate incorporates a transparent section featuring Ghost's portrait, revealing part of the graphics card's PCB beneath the artwork.
The card uses MSI's TRIO FROZR 4 cooling system, incorporating 3 STORMFORCE fans with claw textured blades, a nickel plated copper baseplate, Wave Curved 4.0 fins, and Air Antegrade Fin 2.0 technology. MSI claims these improvements help optimize airflow and heat dissipation while maintaining low operating noise, although independent thermal testing of the special edition has not been published.

GPU specifications reflect the standard RTX 5080 architecture. MSI has not disclosed the special edition's exact clock speeds, power limits, or physical dimensions.
The graphics card retains the core capabilities of NVIDIA's RTX 5080, including hardware accelerated ray tracing and DLSS technologies. Modern Warfare 4 also benefits from NVIDIA's GeForce Game Ready Driver 617.42, which introduces optimizations for the game alongside DLSS 4.5 support.
MSI confirmed that the limited edition RTX 5080 will be available through selected retailers and its official online store in participating countries beginning October 23. However, the company has not disclosed pricing, total production quantities, or regional allocations.
MSI's Call of Duty collaboration stands out because the customization extends beyond the exterior shroud and backplate to the heatsink itself. The yellow cooling assembly and Ghost artwork give the card a distinctive identity, particularly for enthusiasts building themed gaming PCs.
However, the special edition does not introduce a new GPU architecture or additional VRAM. Without confirmed clock speeds or independent benchmarks, there is no reason to expect substantially different gaming performance from other premium RTX 5080 models.
With graphics card prices already under pressure, the key consideration will be how much MSI charges for the exclusive design. For collectors and Call of Duty enthusiasts, the limited edition may justify a premium, but gamers focused entirely on performance will likely find better value in conventional RTX 5080 configurations.
Would you pay extra for MSI's limited edition Call of Duty RTX 5080, or would you rather spend the money on a standard graphics card with the same gaming performance?
